I'm not all into hunting, so I'd count the main 13 points, but my brother, who is more of a serious hunter, says it has more like 16 or 17 scoreable points (over 1 inch).
nice, I can only dream of a buck like that one down here.

Only thing that we have the can closely match, are the mounts hanging at the BassPro entrances

congrats

It was a good week, I'm headed back to the ranch today, hell with black Friday crowds.

My season sucks. Only got to go out three times. Didn't see anything except two does right at closing time. In my county, I can't shoot doe, bucks only. Had a storm roll in yesterday that dropped temperature from 50s to 20s and dumped 7 inches of snow with 30mph winds. This morning I go out a half hour after sunrise and the deer ate all my bait. Got too cold so I came in a bit early. Heading out for the evening about 4pm. This sucks.

Well...I got three doe for the week (bowhunting). I/we hunt in WV...and fortunately we planned the trip this year the week after Sandy hit the East coast...otherwise it would have been a mess. Took us 2 day's just to clear trails in camp....it was perfect weather otherwise...22 at night...upper 30's to low 40's for the day.
As always it was great to see the fellas for the week...and ended up putting 4 deer in the coolers for the trip home. Apparently I wasn't done hunting, as I neared 6 miles from the TN border...got my 4th doe. Unfortunately this one was at 70mph on I-75 Southbound...why is it always the truck's one loves that have to be ruined. Got home safe...all that matters.

My first night out...(Nov 4th)

Nothing for us this year. We might be able to get out for muzzleloader season, but I am not planning on it.

We did come close this past weekend... a big doe almost walked on top of us (buck only hunting where we were). We hoped for a following buck, but no go. We had a great time, and gained weight with the huge spreads of Thanksgiving leftovers we had at the cabin, lol!

Still pretty warm down here, they aren't moving until a few minutes before dark. The wind has not been my friend and I got smelled yesterday and today as they were moving into the fields.

Looking hopeful though, my work schedule and the weather did not cooperate with me last year, hoping to spend alot more time in the woods this year.

I did ok with the rifle up in NY got a decent bologna buck and put some meat in the freezer. I'm probably gonna end up eating my tag in Ohio since gun season started today. I had a great couple weeks in the woods with the bow only had one good buck in range and I didnt draw on him soon enough. Great job everyone!

Shot this little mutant buck back in November.

Hunting, Fishing & Camping

3rd one like that I've taken off the property. Would like to get them out of the gene pool.

My season was one for the record books. Went out opening morning of gun season, and got a buck. I went inside and then the wife went out in the afternoon and she got a buck.

In KY that is normal. Deer season starts on Saturday and I hunt, at most, Saturday morning, evening, and Sunday morning. I can't remember the last time I didn't kill at least one (we can kill 2) on Saturday.

Congrats towards my counter parts in the northern panhandle of the state. Good looking bucks you have. We have 2 more weekend down here in the central area, so I'm hoping to add buck#2 soon.

Shot this guy 2012 here in Connecticut with a w/Barnes expander 12 ga slug. Double lung shot, complete pass through @57 yards. 160lbs dressed. Absolutely no fat on him mid November during the rut. Great eating too! The taxidermist approximates his age at 5 1/2 yrs old.

Thanks guys. I can hunt another 50 years and not shoot another deer this size in CT. I took him fair and square on public land, a 2,500 acre parcel. No back yard hunting for me.
