i was fine till years ago when i drank a 40oz of corona that was in the frige for a long time...it tasted fine.
ever since then if i even have one shot or 1 beer i start sweating like i ran ten miles. it pours off of me. i almost have to start wearing a headband when i drink.
what wrong...is it speeding up my metabolism or ....?

I would assume your body is telling you to not drink. I am not sure the cause of your sweating however.

I have heard of this but that's all I got for you. I don't think its terribly uncommon. I can certainly feel changes in my body after drinking just one beer so your sweating doesn't surprise me.

I think there are two possibilities - something funky happened to you on the night of the Corona you are not telling us about and drinking now evokes a fight or flight response to avoid that happening again or your liver has decided it does not want to metabolize the alcohol so your body sweats it out.

Sweating from alcohol is common, profuse sweating from one is not.

40 ounces of beer didn't change your metabolism. That isn't even 4 cans of beer. If you have a problem, it isn't related to a bottle of Corona "years ago."

googled and found this:
The other correlation between alcohol and sweating is because of the glucose level in the body. Due to alcohol intake, the levels of glucose in the body increase. To remove the extra glucose from the system, the body produces an increased amount of insulin. This in turn leads to the insulin throwing out excessive glucose from the body, which then causes low blood glucose levels in the body and finally to excessive sweating.

Now, I don't know what this means in terms of long term health issues/concerns. But I'd take it as a sign that perhaps drinking alcohol is not for you (which is not necessarily a bad thing).

From experience. If your blood sugar drops low enough to cause you to sweat profusely, You are seconds from collapsing to the floor praying the EMTS show up soon. For me, that's a BSL of 40 - 20, where anything below 60 is dangerous.

My mother developed an allergy to alcohol. She sweats the very few times we coerce her into a taste of a good wine.

Also, alcohol opens the periphery blood vessels, (temporarily) bringing heat to the skin and sweat glands. Could just be a little more sensitive to it.

I sweat when I drink. I've woken up covered in sweat at 3am because of alcohol (presumably). It interrupts your sleep cycle and makes you sweat. I don't think that alcohol imbibed years ago has anything to do with current sweating.
