Should I become a zombie on Walking Dead?
Seriously, should I be a zombie extra next season? I live near Atlanta, so it wouldn't be too inconvenient.
The worst thing would be summer shooting. This past summer wasn't that bad, but they can get nasty with 100*+ days for a week. 97* is a cold snap, even though walking outside is oven like.
Any questions, comments, or concerns?

You only live once.
And you'd be able to say "I was an actor in The Walking Dead."

I'm pretty sure they are prepared for those hot days on a set. I have never watched the show but I'm assuming there is some makeup work and the last thing they want is for it to get ruined by the heat. I say go for it, if it's not what you expected, chalk it up as lesson learned. Good luck!

Zombie characters has become high art with TWD as for zombie extras. Watch some the snippets on AMC, about some zombie actors doing multiple scenes.

Get practicing now!
I suggest taping your eyelids open and watching a looped 'Thriller' video for 24 hours.
That should get your mind right.

If you have the time, HELL YEA!!
I'm still royally PO'ed that they moved World War Z from Philadelphia to Glasgow Scottland. I had an friend of a friend "in" to being an extra, either a Zombie, a cop/soldier or a running civilian. Stupid Philly Unions and Taxes.

I don't think that there have been any elections in the Walking Dead universe.

Depends. Usually a non-SAG union extra in a non speaking role gets about $50 to $75 a day plus lunch. Huge crowds of extras, like having spectators fill a stadium sometimes get nothing more than bragging rights.
Join SAG and extras make a base of $100 plus extra bonuses based on what your character does.

Go for it -- and definitely report back to us on where, when, and which zombie you are on screen...
