PSA 300 Blackout sale

Saw these uppers on sale today for $399 and ordered one. I've been wanting to try this round out for a while. Anyone else have this upper?

Let us know how long it takes to receive.

I want to try 300 AAC badly but the ammo just isn't coming down in price.

PS. Sale ended at 12pm EST today (and not to nitpick PSA, but we're currently in EDT, not EST, so if anyone missed the sale by less an hour you should make them honor it! lol)

I have one with the YHM specter length free float rail. It's my go to hog gun.

Ammo is as low as $10.36/20 now way down from $19.99 when it first came out.

Crud. I am not an AR fan, and I let mine go down the road a few years ago, but it is time to by a "speial" gun to mark an event and I was just shopping for an AR in something other than the usual caliber. If I'd known about this I would have picked one up, (since I still have a S___t ton of mags, then I could have had the fun of shopping for a lower

Your in luck!
Sale is still going on and most likely will till sold out. They do extended sales time much if not sold out.

You would be much better off spending $180 more and getting a CMMG 300 Blackout upper.

thanks. I just made a Midway order befor I started thinking about another AR. that is more t my liking as a complete upper and without the ,to me, "unvaluable" olr AR sight/base/

I will check and see if they are still expecting to have them in on time as per the backorder status.

I preferred the chrome-lined FN barrel from PSA, but that looks like a good deal as well.

Run away. I held my tounge when this happened, but here it is. I worked on a CMMG upper that had an out of spec chamber, misaligned gas tube, and the finish was barked up. It came this way from the factory- Customer service was so-so at first. I felt bad for the guy who bought the upper- it drove him crazy before we got it diagnosed. CMMG ended up taking care of it eventually, pretty much.

That said, PSA has had some serious bumps in the road according to a few folks here. Despite the few negative experiences with PSA in here, my vote is still with them....

Well the CMMG 5.56 upper I bought a year ago has been flawless, I've got 4000 + rounds through it, and just as accurate as any other non-free float AR. On the other hand, the PSA upper I recently bought was complete junk and they did nothing to make it right.

Not trying to turn this into a brand war, but I've heard good things about the CMMG 300 blackout upper, and you get a BCG and charging handle with it for a good price. They have recently stepped up their quality control, and are good to go. If you have issues they will make it right.

I call BS. Any time I had a problem with PSA it was handled promptly and quickly to better than my satisfaction.

Call BS all you want. You must have missed the recent thread involving me and a couple other guys here getting screwed by PSA. Our cases were not as simple as missing items out of a order, but uppers that were not put together/finished correctly and when confronted PSA ignored us, gave us the run around, and pretty much sent us a singing telegram to go **** ourselves.

Yes PSA uses quality components for a great price, but their company model and customer service has a lot to be desired to put it politely.

I believe you stated that your gas block was off center a little? Then you posted that it ran flawless after you aligned gas block.

Now in hind sight the whole dam gun was junk?

The other thread was a upper that looked a little light on anodising inside of the upper, but still runs........Wow these guys got screwed royaly.

PSA certainly isn't for everybody. But neither are every other brand.

the way I figure it, a good 300 AAC barrel is about $300. I'll put an FN barrel up against about anything. As long as the other parts are decent quality I feel like I got a good deal.

That's the way it usually turns out... People who want safe queens fooling with ARs....

A lot of times people blow their problem a little out of proportion to draw attention to themselves, screaming "woest me, my problems are more dire than yours". Then involve a web forum and it's a bunch of "Oh they screwed me way more than you"...

I've found that sometimes people (me included) can't eyeball a FSB and will say they are "crooked". I use a jig I made to ensure alignment. If you can zero the joker and it functions, the FSB is perfect per "mil spec"

As far as PSA, I've made over 100 orders from them, and have to date 2 errors. Both were corrected quickly and promptly.

I do have the benefit of driving 3 hours to the warehouse or store, but it's easier for me to pay shipping and get it tomorrow, but I doubt that's why they single me out to do mine right.

I have both a PSA 300 Blk and a CMMG 300 Blk. I'll tell you one thing, if you want to shoot subsonics unsuppressed with the CMMG, it is a hit or miss. Mine won't cycle subs and I read about many more whose guns won't cycle them, others I have only read on forums say theirs is running fine. Maybe, maybe not.

CMMG first reported that the 16" uppers with the carbine gas system would run subs and supersonics. that all changed when they started getting complaints, then the ad was conveniently reported as "wrong". When I called tech support, I received none at all. Good thing I'm using the CMMG as my day hog gun using supers.

To be honest, the PSA does not cycle subs 100% of the time, but any time it cycles them, it's better than the CMMG.

The difference of the two other than one chrome lined barrel the other not, is the PSA is a bit heavier because of the barrel.

Wrong, try again.

When I pay five bills for a upper I want it to be put together 100 percent out of the box. PSA was unable to do this.
