My first NFL experience was GREAT!!! Mrs. Gombey even had a good time.

Now I'm sitting in court wishing I was back in Atlanta!

God, the weather has been nice here. Mid 60's during the day, low 50s at night. This rules. Almost makes up for the last two ridiculously hot summers.

Spent the day at the range at work again. Also talked about general tactic stuff and did some "fighting". Oh man I would really love if we could do this in a professional way and not in some girly BS way. I really wonder not more officers get killed here.
Holy cow sometimes I am just embarassed of Austria's finest.

Yeah, every once in a while we have a good hands-on that then gets watered down because someone got soemthing bent the wrong way. I know there is a risk in that kind of training, but can you imagine if football players only ever had contact in games and not practice? Boxers/MMA fighters?
What if firemen never.... oh wait, bad example.

Anyway, I don't think the first time someone pops you in the mouth should be when you're already on the job and in the middle of an incident. I'm not Billy Badass, but I've had my bell rung a few times and know what to expect next.

I've said this before. If you don't get some full contact experience in ya, and you want to be a cop, you'll be in for a rude surprise the first time someone on the street pops you one or tries to fight you.

You can learn all the magical techniques and have a master tell you that if you punch here, he'll go there, then you kick here, then you grab there, and then twist here and he falls there... yada yada yada. It's all fun and games until you get popped the first time and you are like... WTF? That hurt!

Anyway, when we do FoF and go hands on, the instructors do wear the RedMan suits and we can go a little harder than usual. I've taken off an instructor's helmet with one blow under the chin. They had to call it after that, but at least I know it works.

I've hit a new low, dinner was a bottle of mt. dew and a piece of bread. I need to turn this train wreck of eating habits around.

I had a leftover packet of Butterballs sliced turkey breasts and a few Hawaiian sweet bread rolls. No drinks either. Waiting to save up for some water.
