You know, it's funny about that. The DOJ felt it necessary to send a message out to all staff saying that, regardless of state law, MJ and synthetic cannabinoid use is still illegal under federal law, and still subject to the federal drug free workplace act. I'm guessing they had some issues out in Colorado and California, lol.

I have been at one of the hardest and most humiliating schools I've ever been to. It's called ECQC. All about fighting and shooting from 0-5 feet. I'm losing a lot of fights, and getting shot a lot. This is a total ego speed bump, is totally exhausting, and one of the best schools I've ever been to.

My everything hurts.

I stopped when I saw "mouthpiece and cup" on the required equipment list, lol. That sounds intense!

Yep, there is a legal battle coming up here with departments with policies forbidding the use of medicinal marijuana no matter what the state law says. We've gotten away with it for now but we hear it's coming.

All you/they have to do is fall back on federal law.

You expect liberal CA lawyers who want to make a buck on the backs of disgruntled police union thugs give a hoot about logic?

The question would be, "What is logic?"

Sent from my communicator.

Thing is - I was worried about getting injured. Hurt - got plenty of that. Injured - nobody in the class was injured.

Guy had a pretty reasonable philosophy. A lot of the stuff was pretty close to full-speed. He says at full speed, you tend to defend yourself pretty naturally. He says when you tell people to practice the technique at 25% or something, one person goes overboard, and the guy "letting them" do it gets hurt.

There were a crapload of owies, but he did monitor everything to make sure nobody got too crazy. I liked practicing stuff to see if it actually worked when someone was trying hard to not let you do it. Except that I'm so sore I want to cry.

Sounds awesome. I hate the 25% speed (or slower) practice sessions. I realize there is some risk/liability of getting hurt in more realistic training, but more risk in someone going hands on with false confidence and no real world use of their tools. You don't train with toy guns then take a real gun into the field without ever firing it.

I did; the others with me did not, I found out once we got down there. I would have stayed if it was just me, but the others were going to be in bad shape.

Cuddling is cool while camping. But it has to be under a certain degree below freezing. Otherwise man card is revoked. Plus there can be no phones working, no food or water and the last bit of firewood was used to make a SOS sign.

Hopefully it'll be a lesson learned for the next time. Of the big items, I only need to get my sleeping bag. Everything else is either here or on the way.

I have pretty much everything, though there are some things I'd like to have. I'd like a slightly larger pack (using a Marmot Aspen 35 right now), and a 0* rated sleeping bag (currently using a 20* North Face Cat's Meow). Otherwise, I think I'm in pretty good shape, gear-wise.

And yeah, next time, I'm going to make sure people have good gear at least a week or so out before the trip, lol.
