This winters plan is to find the most accurate powder for my 9mm. Looking both here and over at BE I came up with this list of potential contenders. Can you think of any that should be added or taken away off hand? Buying 20 different 1 pound container is just a little two ambitious.

Are you looking for something that will work well in multiple cartridges, or can it be 9mm specific?

I've only used three powders on your list of 20, but, I will say this with confidence. Number 14, on your list, has made more than adequately, accurate loads, with a multitude of calibers. My only problem with Unique, is for hunting loads. I've found other powders give the velocity I want to achieve, but, from a pure accuracy goal, have found none better.

You've got to be more specific about what you're trying to accomplish as far as PF and what type and weight of bullet you'll be using. A powder that does really well for light to mid weight jacketed bullets might not be suitable for lead / moly coated bullets.

I've been very happy with Universal Clays for 9mm jacketed bullets, but it barely makes minor with 147s without going to/past max load, and makes nasty smoke with moly coated lead.

Power factor doesn't matter. While I play gun games I am more interested in straight up accuracy.

I've tried Titegroup, WST, 231, Unique & WSF, and WSF has been my favorite (even for "gamer" loads). I like 4.7gr & 5.1gr with PD 124gr JHP's @ 1.110", but I'll be working up some +P loads soon. What are the specs of your favorite 124gr/WSF loads so far?

I would like a nice load for to run with a suppressed. So I am thinking accurate, subsonic, and clean for use with Rainier 147gr PHP bullets.

I too have found this to be exceptional in my G17 with KKM barrel. Was using 125 gr TC moly Bear Creek bullet.
Also outstanding results using 4.1gr Bullseye with the same bullet. Sorry no chrono data but had only moderate recoil.

But I don't suffer from CRB. CRS... maybe.

VV powders are a little more costly, but if one is reloading for competition (accuracy and low felt-recoil), one may at least load up those premium rounds - but still for far less than that over-the-counter crud.

320 really is smokeless, flashless, clean, and meters well. Also, I've done some tests with 320 and ammo temps, chilling some to 45 F and heating some to ~110 F and there was no measurable difference in velocity/PF.

The only company I know of that uses VV powders is Atlanta Arms and Ammo. They also use Starline brass.

Best all around for me. I don't mine cleaning a gun as long as it will run for at least a range session without needing cleaning. Minimum 500 rounds. Most of my rounds end up being light or mod range. I don't make SD ammo so I see no need to max out pressures. Powder is already cheaper than primers or bullets so even VV is cost effective.

If I can buy a pound of N320 locally I give it a try.

I loaded up a couple hundred rounds today to take to the range tomorrow. Mostly Winchester powders.
