So... everyone is to suppose that the closings listed are due to the squatter being re-elected? Personally, I hope that is the case. But saying so doesn't make it so.

Can't wait to see the employment statistics over the next few months. Between the "adjustment" that needs to be made from the bogus numbers last month and the new layoffs, they ain't gonna be pretty.

It figures. What would you do if you were a business owner confronted by this anti business administration?
I closed my business this year, in part due to the economy. I have evaluated reopening but feel tepid. My reasons are taxes and the EPA. I have no employees but if I did I would factor that in too. I take a big loss this year, one I will find it difficult to recover from.

I offered some the liberal panty waste the option to bet me whether it would be > 8% in the next report and then stay above 8 throughout his presidency. No takers. I'd hate to take little Lintfocker's allowance from him and IndyMatt's welfare cash.

Aside from the economic impact, care to guess what else goes up when unemployment goes up? Next thing you know, little Lintfocker will be getting beat up on the short bus for his lunch money. What a shame.

Lintfocker...
I usually choose "featherlicker", but this a nice alternative. Thank you.

I work for the largest health care provider in the country..
With O's relection and ObamaCare full speed ahead you guessed it.
We had a call today...they laid off a lot of middle management; based on our entire workforce size we slashed about 17%. Most are leaving on good terms and are being given two weeks to close out projects and hand stuff off. there was one melt down I know of...I'm sure the rest are thinking 1) reference 2) there is always a chance something else might open up internally
And of course in stride the VP told those of us left need to figure out ways to get more efficient; she also mentioned the fact we are all salary and this means you don't work a 40 hour week. I haven't in years but still.
This weekend seems like a great time to polish up the resume.

Give them what they paid for. Wall street just amazes me. They paid and got Obama then they sell off. What kind of stupid morons are they?

Doesn't NC have some of the weakest immigration laws in the south? No ID needed to get a drivers liscense and you can register to vote at the same time.
Its amazing how many NC construction trucks are in SC. Most have non-Caucasian and Non African American drivers..
Is that PC enough...

I believe the next unemployment figures come out on December 7th (odd coincidence). At this rate, they may shoot up to double digits...even with the Obama fudge.

So I read on another thread that all RNs at a hospital were cutback to part-time to save the cost of the affordable healthcare act. 2 things come to mind.
The labor dept. may reclassify full-time to anything over 19 hrs.
The hospitals will reclassify RNs as exempt from overtime and pay them straight salary while also requiring 50-60 hrs of work per week. This would in turn get the unions involved...... I know how this ends.

A bunch of our more liberal members here have been gloating over their candidate winning... Why aren't they gloating in this thread? It's only been 3 days since they "won".

They'll just blame Bush for the lay-offs and closings.

No it's not the fault of Obama, how can he be blamed? He won't be sworn in 'till after the first of the year. If anyone should get the blame it's the guy who didn't do anything positive in the last four-years.
