Smiles- 25 I - N Bomb

Have any of you had problems with this synthetic drug? It is in powder or liquid form and imported from Asia.
It is supposedly like bath salts.

A recent death in New Orleans and several emergency room visits has led to La to be the second state to make it illegal.
It may not show on traditional drug screens and requires specializes testing

Is it something you are seeing on patrol?

I have not personally seen it, but recently did a DRE evaluation on a person who was on it (along with several other things). Definitely part of the newer crop of synthetic drugs, but not necessarily "like bath salts." "Bath salts" (MDPV) is a synthetic cathinone that is notable in that it simultaneously increases dopamine production and inhibits dopamine reuptake.

25I is a synthetic hallucinogen that is currently not a controlled substance in the US. If you're in an urban area or a college community and you're not seeing it yet, you will be. Definitely part of the ever growing and evolving world of "legal" drugs. There's a little bit of information about it on Wikipedia and Erowid:

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/2ci_nbome/

Here's some MDPV info, too:

Just showed up here about 3 weeks ago. Neighboring agency had to deal with a girl that was on it, but that is the only instance I know of so far. She sounded horrible in the background over the radio. To my understanding its only schedule controlled so far in one state back east and the country of Russia!

25i-NBOMe is legal in most jurisdictions. It can be purchased on the internet and in head shops in some places. It, just like synthetic cannabinoids (K2/spice/etc) and synthetic cathinones (bath salts/MDPV) are outstanding testimony AGAINST legalization.

Another way of looking at it is the criminalization of m j has led to the manufacture of this stuff to "beat the system".

No matter the cause, its going to kill more before it gets banned across the nation.

25i-NBOMe and Bath Salts are definitely not legal responses to criminalized marijuana. K2/Spice type trucks are cannabinoids and fall more in to that vein.

I do not believe there would be a market for spice if marijuana was never criminalized. Therefore, I see no need to invent a synthetic marijuana.
Its just an opinion.
