Face Off

Well a coworker of mine here in afghaniland saw the movie face off for the first time. He now wants us to recreate the castor troy 1911's for him. guns have been ordered and I will get started when I get out of the sand pit. Basically going to take the SA frame and slide and start from there. I think it will be a neat project although not very challenging.

I hope he lives in a state where OC is allowed.... that would be awesome. Kinda white trashy but in a good way. He'd probably be able to get a few Springfield ROs, switch out the sights, checkering and paint em gold and be done with it.

He lives in Va. There will be more to it than that. The triggers are different, the guns are ported, sight change, GS, TS, checkering, and magwell. The guns from the movie are TiN coated. Since we are going that path, I will ensure the slide to frame fit is perfect and the trigger is smooth and crisp. I can't allow any substandard things to leave my shop.
Basically a complete rebuild with some machining as well.

Ahhh since we are getting all authentic, he should go with the Springfield Custom Shop.... as that's who made the real ones. Kind of a waste to go full house but hey.... it's not my money.

Except they ported the slide and not the barrel. I will make a pair and they will be exact matches.
