Glock1 you are really moving in the right direction! Your plans appear solid, moved a couple of firearms to upgrade, and see the need to prep! After getting your "battery" together, maybe a generator, some food planning, some plastic tubs to organize, and rotate stock. Study some bushcraft skills, first aid, plant a garden.
Have some fun, get a few others on track.

Wow, so much has happened since I posted last. Here is an update.
I sold the Bersa and the 308 is on Gunbroker for sale. I almost had my G19 (waited to long to pull the trigger) when all this craziness hit. I did manage to snag a Gen 4 G17 and got it today. I also got a Taurus 66 357 Mag with a 4" barrel coming. I got a great deal on it and I have alot of 38 ammo now that I inherited so it should be good.
The G17:
I got some extra G17 mags on order and 2 Gen4 G19's. That will give me a 9mm every member in my house can fire efficiently. I also have a Ruger 22/45 Lite on order. I decided to go with Ruger for reliability. The more I researched "knock off 22's" the more issues I found with them. I have 2k rounds of each caliber on order with my distributor and I have about 40 pmags now. This little safe of mine is getting crowded. I think it is about time to move the ammo out and make it for guns only.
My prepping is going slow but it is going. I have lots of canned foods from beans, veggies, and meats. I have lots of dry grains and saving some seeds up slowly. I have all my medical supplies and have managed to stash a 30 day supply of my most important prescriptions. All in all I think I could sustain my house for about 2 weeks of not leaving the house and then maybe 2 more of minimal contact. Of course, if the shtf then I am sure my plan will play out in every way EXCEPT the way I hope it will. lol

I haven't read all the threads, but i have included in my own selection is a bolt action rifle in 22LR shooting subsonics. I can hunt small game and not attract attention with the 'sonic boom' a bullet traveling faster than the speed of sound will create.
I also have a bunch of Berkey water filter bottles that like the ones the UN passes out to remote villages in Africa for drinking from their polluted rivers, etc.
In a shtf situation, you need shelter first, then water, and then food. learn how to make a lean to, how to start a fire without matches, and how to not be visible on a horizon in the middle of night. Stay holed up in the day, and have friends and neighbors you can trust who can watch each others backs in your neighborhood or out in the wilds.

Good job! The only thing better than a good idea tossed around online is actually doing it! You are on a good path Glock 1.
I bought a quantity of pmags and KCI G19 mags the night after the school shooting and having used the KCI mags for years I would highly recommend them to you. They cost $8 and are used by the South Korean army and many people here.

Uneasy - you've had good luck with the KCI's for glocks? I've avoided them because the KCI's that I bought for M1 carbines are disappointing.

I find them to be quite good. The steel on the lips is a little sharper than Glock finishes it but I may actually like that better... go figure.
Mine are all G19's my old Gen 3's and now with Gen 4's with my complete change over to 9mm, .22LR and .223. They work really well and I never look to see which type of magazine I am grabbing, I treat them all the same.

Thanks - if the current magazine silliness ever subsides, I may try some.

Thanks guys. I looked up the KCI mags and found them for 16.50 each. I might get a few and test them out. If they are good I have several I could use.

This is a great thread. It is causing me to start thinking about what-ifs in my own area. I think I will need a bit more ammo.

I scored 10 Springfield XDM 9 with the 3.8" and 19rd Mags today and 30 extra mags. I am going to add a pair of them to my collection and sell the remianing 8. G19's are scarce and the XDM is 13/19 rd versatile and will take its place nicely since I have more than enough magazines.

Ummm....is it just me or is there a lot of gun swapping going on here. 2 17's and 2 a9's is a pretty good deal. Both will use 17 mags.
Why did we go to XD's?????

They just came available today with my distributor so I ordered 10 of them to resell. I still have 4 19's on order (2 for me, 2 for my sister). Until they come in the XD's will serve as a place holder. I also ordered a 92FS today just because I want one. I really just wanted the XD's to have more new guns. lol I will sell the other 8.

Yep. I don't mention it here though since I am not a sponsor. Yet.
