might not need a reduced size 1911 after all
Interesting site.
The good lord was kind to me on the top.
Maybe it's going to be more useful than I realized.

Now all you need is a CCO to go along with it.

I'm not short on options to go along with 'it'. I just need 'it'. A full 5" 1911. It's challenging for a 5'2" woman.
I shoot my 5" 1911's better than anything that I've ever shot.
IWB and OWB pokes me in the ribs. Maybe this is the ticket.

Turn about is fair play, so I'll let that one go...
Did you think they would be smaller?
What do you mean?

I think the perfect combo would be a CCO in 38 super and to make it perfect, it would be aluminum framed. I guess we will just have wait for someone to make it.
I have a feeling someone will make it soon enough.

Thought a 5" 1911 would be bigger.

I'm as homesick as all hell, but had a very good laugh when I realized your new avatar is a twinkie wearing boots. Thanks.

FWIW these types of holsters are worthless in a situation where you are attacked in close quarters. Which, unfortunately is likely to happen to a woman. You have NO leverage drawing across your body from under a bra or your armpit.
On a side note..... the compression shorts....... dayum.

Those pants seem a 'stretch' to me. The arm pit carry looks like it might rub, but it might not be any worse than a wire bra. I don't know yet. I'm willing to sacrifice a little comfort. Something is better than 'naked'.
ETA there must be some benefit in the element of surprise. I don't think most people unless I tell them, have any idea of what I do in my spare time. That said, it has been a blessing to initiate non shooters into our sport. I'm not scary or tactical or whatever, just functional...oh a lot like our beloved 1911.
One more ETA: I appreciate everyone's support in every way. I have a thread or two in GNG, supporting the NRA. They are big, they have lobbying power. Do what you can guys and thanks from me and my other pals. You would be surprised at the number of folks I reached today to join the NRA. I'm coming from a different direction than many on here.
Remember: We all base our opinions on our own personal biases and experiences. We change one mind at a time.
Peace and Happy Holidays to all.

And I hope that once my wife "takes ownership" of her new firearm that I can get her to do something other than purse carry

Now, if it held a Commander sized 1911 with the barrel canted to the rear, butt down on a 45 degree angle, it might be useful. In a lot of ways it would be just like a shoulder holster only a lot more stable.

I agree. This thing look like a deep concealment deal and not for quick draw.
