SOG SEAL Elite. Got it. Love it. And I use the heck out of it camping so I know it holds up.

My Chris Reeve,
Not because of the hollow handle but because it is all one piece of good steel, no scales to come off, no guard to loosen.

They were way expensive at the time and Chris Reeve (he has a website) quit making them for a variety of reasons, I think what he had to charge for them was making it difficult.
He has a line of nice "traditional" knives however. Those models are now in the "Collector's" realm.

Tough to pick just one!
OK, Ka-Bar short kukri....1095 carbon steel, has heft, not as long or as lightweight as a Tramontina machete but will handle about any chore that a fixed blade requires.
Bushcraft and the skinning of game? Not so much but for that, a folder would suffice.

Esee Junglas would do fine, I have plenty of quality folders to handle the more delicate stuff.

Any blade made by Kent Turnipseed, Chandler, AZ.
Otherwise, Ontario TFI. The sheath is very well designed and versatile for a number of methods of carry. The knife is full tang and fits the hand well. The scales are perfect. The steel is easily sharpened.

Randall Model 1. I've owned one since '83. Been around the world with it and used it hard on Uncle Sam's dime.
