Troy defense carbine-Everything in box + parts/ field strip- LOTS of pics

There has been a lot of chatter over the interwebs about these TROY DEFENSE carbines because of their insane black friday deal. I finally got a hold of one from a local Dick's Sporting Goods.

The off the shelf price is $1,100

Here's what's in the box:

Thanks for posting the pics. Interesting that the BCG is marked with ToolCraft's CAGE code, instead of being marked with Troy's.

Definitely a FA carrier. What buffer weight did it come with?

+melonited CMV 1/7 barrel.

Nice rifle.

I was really considering one hard at the $799 sale. My black friday PSA has an Anchor Harvey receiver too. Toolcraft has the big contract for m16 bolt carriers for DOD and yeah is said to be supplying DPMS and Bushmaster who seem to be improving their parts and quality ( better barrels and materials in some models).

Good Lord I hope not, or I'm in trouble.

I think Troy just ships them with the 10Rd. mags.

As far as I know, there is no restrictions on ARs here in VA. like there is in CA, NY & NJ.

They all come with 10 rounders. The barrel is a big mystery other than it's melonite coated and 1/7.

RE: mag- Dicks calls them MSRs. the 10 rounder lets them supply to all states with an easier distro system.

RE: Barrel- I just says TROY 5.56 1-7. i'd bet it's a DPMS or Bushmaster but i have zero backing for that.

RE: Buffer- It weight exactly 3 oz according to my digital scale. Standard Carbine buffer.

The first Troy Defense rifles were LWRC barrels. They were CHF and I believe LWRC MPIs, but now they don't even advertise CHF.

Agreed. Troy has to much invested to give up just because Dick's wussed out.

I lucked out and got 2 for $720 each w/ the DSG CC 10%. I'm so glad mine came 12 days after BF. Some guys are still not receiving theres yet since last week. Hope DSG fulfills the orders even though pulling all modern rifles off the racks for sale.

I called the store I got mine from last night, acted anonousmly, and asked about my ordered rifle.

I was told that if I had one ordered, and paid for, I would get it.
