G19 serial number

Pick up a used G19 yesterday with mfg. date of 2002, the serial number is EYBXXXUS. I have never seen US in the serial number of a Glock. The gun is like new and still has copper lub on slide.

Think this is due to the frame being replaced due to those years with bad rails (cracking) and this is how Glock re-serialized them.

All Glock pistols had US at the end of the frame serial numbers up until a certain date. My "E" model G-26 serial # (EVH7XXUS) is like that, also some "E" prefix serial numbered Glocks had frame rail issues, and were recalled and replaced at one time by Glock inc, you can call Glock direct and give them your serial #, and they will tell you if the frame was recalled, or like mine, not affected by the recall. Not all "E" prefix serial number Glocks were frame recalled.

My G19 which I bought in 1989 has a US as part of its serial number.

No, a "US" suffix was standard for US imported guns for first 20 years or so.

My only "E" frame replaced gun had they just added "-1" to the SN, as opposed to frame upgrades which have "G" prefix.
