Back ordered mags

After an extensive search in my area and online I wasn't having any luck finding 10rd. mags for my G21. On a thread here at Glock Talk I was led to Glockmeister and placed my order. All seemed well. The money was deducted from my card. I was thinking the search was finally over. Seven days later I received an email stating the mags I ordered were a backordered item and there was no estimated time for receiving it. They offered alternative mags that were comparable to the Glock factory mags that could be substituted for my backordered items. Before I contact them to find out what those comparable mags might be I'd like to get some opinions on whether or not there are comparable mags to the factory Glock mags esp. in the home defense department. When it comes to possibly saving my life I don't want to use any inferior equipment

I'd stay away from them.

deathrunner60, It takes some serious testing (live-fire function and drop tests) to find an aftermarket mag that is worthy of upgrading. Then it typically requires a high-quality spring replacement and floorplate substitution to approach the reliability and durability of a factory mag. I've done it with aftermarket, high-cap 45ACP mags where no factory option exists, but when there are factory mags with equal capacity I will choose the factory mag every time for critical-duty service regardless of cost difference. My advice is don't accept "comparable mags" as a replacement for factory equipment in a duty weapon.

...and they shouldn't charge you're credit card, unless they are putting the stuff in a shipping box with your name on it!

I attended a Glock Armorers class on Tuesday and we we're all told by the instructor that getting mags from Glock is impossible at the present time due to the backlog.

He also went on to say that right now Glock is 800,000+ short of supplying the current orders.

I hate to say it folks, but it's going to be awhile before everything returns to normal.

Last week midway dumped a bunch online. I was able to pick up 2 for my G19 at $25 each. They are trickling in at places. Try Gilbert Guns. I have bought Glock mags from them before. They have doubled their price on mags so I won't buy from them right now but if you're in a panic they may have what you're looking for. Get on some e-mail notifications as well.

I'd just be patient and wait for OEM. Things will calm down. Either way, 10-rounders will be available.
