$325-350 would be fair both ways to 2 close friends.
That being said, a 1st gen is high quality and you don't see many of them being carried. I hardly ever see one at the range.

OP, that gun seems as good as new. Cheaper is always better, but unless you need a light rail, dual recoil spring or reduced size grip, why not pick that one up? Spend what you would one a used gun. As for prices, what is a used 2nd or 3rd gen going for in MD?

My gen 1 with 7 mags cost me $400ish. This was before the panic so i am sure it would be worth more now.

Police trade ins at gun shows are going for $350-400 so paying $450 would be a fair deal for both of you. If he wants $500, dont let the extra $50 spoil the deal.

I was waiting for the Gen 4 30s but not out yet. Trying to get any G30 Gen4 is a problem. My GSSF dealer got a G30 gen4 in so I bought that one first. Next year maybe a G30s Gen4.

6 months ago a friends friend who is dying was selling his guns. I picked up a near perfect, just some holster wear on the front, Gen 1, G17, born in 86. still has the black internals, i got it for $200 and a S&W Nickel 6" 586 LNIB born 82 for $250. Now i realize the guy was just unloading them, but it was a great deal. i even offered more for the Smith but he would not take it.
I sent the slide off to be refinished by the Glock Store and it came back perfect with the engravings i got on it and the finish is tough! I CCW it all the time, i love the thinness of the frame, shoots like a dream, never did the 'upgrade' as it was optional.
i say buy it for $350 shoot it like you stole it, carry it, etc. it's just a glock and there are a lot of Gen 1's out there, but with the current market they are trying to make it a unicorn and get a way higher price than what it is actually worth. Mine will outshoot my buddies Gen 4 all day long, even with him shooting it.

$350 to $400 is a good range for a nice gen 1 to me.

I wouldn't mind picking up a 30S at some point myself.

A winner at $500 or less. I don't mind paying reasonable premium for a Gen1 in nice shape with known history. Although Glock has certainly improved their "perfection" over the subsequent three generations, some (like me) prefer the Gen1 grip to all others on a G17. If you LIKE the gun, buy it.

I don't understand why the G30S does not use the Gen 4 frame?
New hybrid model released on the Old Gen 3 frame does not make sense since they already make a Gen 4 G30.

If the BOX has the cartridge holders, it is a collectible in its own right. I.have seen such boxes sell for $100+.

G29 worth

A friend wants to buy my well-used but perfectly functioning G29.
What is a fair price between friends?

I would say $475, more if you have any extras (night sights, mags)

Around Rochester NY you would be looking for way more. This area is almost out of guns for sale.

kygunco.com seems to get a ton of them in compared to other dealers; might want to watch the site.

A buddy of mine sold his Gen4 FDE 19 on gunbroker last month for $1005.

No gouging, he listed it with no reserve, starting bid 1 penny.

Another one sold a week before that for $1286.
