Should I buy it?

Don't post here much, usually just read. However, I'm having some trouble today, so I thought I'd ask.

I already own a G19, gen 4. I would really like to have something just a bit smaller, so I'm getting a 26. That part is decided. With the market the way it is now, I'm having a little trouble finding one that isn't crazy expensive and since our idiot politicians have decided to make ftf transactions illegal come july 1 (i am a 'use to be proud colorado native'). I've found a gen 3 26 that is a decent price and I am thinking about picking it up today, but I want to know if it will be much different from my 19. I plan on using the 19 for most of my shooting, and the 26 for most of my carrying. What do you all think, will i notice much of a difference in the two? I have shot the 3rd gen quite a bit, but not in a few years now, and never side by side with a gen 4.

Where does your thumb sit on the mag release of the G19 Gen4 when you work the pistol normally? Does it cover the mag release or are you using the rear portion only? In other words, will you need to adjust your normal grip, if any, to work the smaller G26 Gen3 mag release? Take into account that the Gen4 frame without backstrap adapter gets you 2-3mm closer to the mag release (and trigger) than a Gen3 frame.

Find a local range that will rent one. Some people don't mind the pinky finger dangling, others, do..

Just went to their website after seeing your post. I was hoping that they were also offering OD frames only, but it's the whole pistol. I was just wanting an OD frame for the G26 I already have.

That's for sure

Although people paying $900 for a Glock get what they deserve, as far as I'm concerned.

I was thinking the exact same thing (on both counts).

Still wouldn't pay Glockmeister's starting price of $624 for an OD Gen 4 19.

Could be worse. The Gen 4 OD G21 is going for $673.

As much as I like and trust Glocks, I don't know if I could ever bring myself to pay close to 7 bills for one. Especially considering $75 of that is a premium for Smyrna mixing in some dye with their polymer.

I just checked the price, and I think I would be OK with black.

If you added eight to your order, cancelled the immediate plan to sell them and got a sign warning the spouse not to open the storage box, you could be in for an epic thread...

The guns pictured appear to be FDE,yet they promise OD. So it would appear as if they contracted with Glock to do a OD run and there was never a previous run including Gen 4's. SJ 40

Price Check G 20 Gen 3

This is a Gen 3 G20 that was imported 5/14/12. SN prefix TCM-xxx. Called gun store who is way out of town and who I have never used. Asked about it because I saw it on his sight. He did not know what gen the gun was which I thought was strange.

The gun is reported to be factory NIB with all parts etc
Two mags
This is a standard frame not an SF
Gen 3.

The dealer wants $625 plus tax.

I have not jumped as I was feeling that was a bit high. Would you all pay that or should I wait for a Gen 4 or better price?

Regards, GMB

ETA i had to have him give me the SN so I could call glock and look it up. He couldn't be bothered. He just kept repeating that it was a G20.

I think that price is about right, but no real steal. If you don't feel comfortable dealing with that seller than pass as there are others out there.

I guess what supprised me is the gun was sent over from Austria almost a year ago 11 months and change. Being that these are rare as it is and with the current run on ammo and guns I would figure that was a long time to sit. This dealer said he just got it which is tough to believe. My fear is that it is at least partially used. I would be able to tell in person I believe however frankly I don't want to make the drive to find out. That coupled with the fact that this fella couldn't even tell me what Gen thiis new pistol is was kind of a red flag.

You probably mean test-fired (in Smyrna) on 5/14/12 as written on the enclosed manila envelope.
