Macy's steps up the the plate...
I doubt when Macy's started the "we will donate $1.00 for every letter to Santa delivered to our store to the Make a Wish foundation" they expected a little girl named Gabriella who survived a tumor to take up the cause.
She had her wish granted by Make a Wish and wanted to pay it forward...and she (with a little help) exceeded her goal of 10k letters...and delivered 240k letters to the store!
Macy's took it in stride and upped the anti by another $20k...
Nice job Gabriella, and nice work Macy's. There is no way I'm going to the mall today (or really anytime) but I will show my support by making a Macy's .com purchase...you earned it!

Sorry...just saw it on the news and had to find it in writing.
I thought it was a nice change from the typical Christmas retailer news stories... And it's a good cause.

I haven't figured out a way of sending a note to Macys to tell them good job.
If someone does, post it.

Very cool for Gabriella, Macy's, and the additional recipients of wishes.

Great stuff. I think a lot of what companies do to help people and communities (retailers among them) goes unknown. I know what my company does. It's good to see it make the news now and then. Encourages others.
