Have new gen4 Glock 21 at i am breaking in in 4 days. I bought 250rds Estate 230gr hard ball brass cased. This is this oldmans first Glock. Is there a special way to break this pistol in?

Seriously,
I like to crack the pup open and give her a clean and lube
before the first run at the range.
It's not really mandatory, but that's all you need to do.

The G21 is a fine weapon.

No break in required. Some will say leave the factory copper lube on for 200 rounds.

I usually run a patch through the barrel and make sure the slide rails have some lube on them. Then enjoy!

I am not a big striker fired pistol fan. I served 30 years on the Chicago Poilce Dept carrying a revolver. This 21 will be my night stand pistol. I am just a little shaky with the glock. I am a Sig guy and prefer DA/SA but like the idea of 13 rd mags for house pistol. Merry Christmas to all.

Glocks don't need breaking in, which is different than you getting used to it. They will function reliably right out of the box. The trigger will smooth out some with use though.

I prefer not to remove the copper colored lube from new glocks, but let it "wear in" for several hundred rounds.

Glocks sort of are DA/SA once you are used to the trigger reset.

The FNX45 is a "hammer" DA/SA and has a 15 round mag. I have several FNP45s and a new FNX45Tac. I prefer them over all of my many 45s incl the G21Gen4

I was a SIG guy too, but the SA striker fired Glock is the way to go! Don't put finger on the trigger unless you are going to shoot. Same trigger pull every time!

Somewhere towards the back of the manual I believe it suggests cleaning the pistol but leaving the copper colored anti-sieze lubricant in place, and lubricating the gun before shooting it. Otherwise the people that make them do not seem offer or suggest a need for any breaking in procedure.

I usually with a new Glock just leave the copper colored stuff that came on it there for the first couple of boxes of ammo I shoot. Then I clean as normal and lightly lube and put back together and she is good to go. I am a LEO so the ones I have are for business and I hardly ever leave home without one.

Pat, you're going to love it. I got a blue label G21 gen4 with NS for my 50th and it's a great gun, wish I could carry it (or the G30 gen4) at work. Shoots nice and soft! Grab some CPD duty ammo and you have a great home defense weapon!

I don't know the ammo used, i will be retired 5 yrs on 15Feb. I also carried a revolver all 30 yrs i spent on the job and i worked the streets the whole time.

No break in is necessary or indicated. You'd be shooting for enjoyoment, not for break in.

I put 250 rds of Estate brass cased 230gr hard ball thru it at an outdoor range. I had no malfunctions, but IMHO weak ejection and brass running down my arms also some BTF or BTH. I am not familiar with Glock ejection but is 2 to 3 feet to my 3-4 O'Clock normal?? I am use to 6-8 feet to my right for ejection.
