I don't know what you mean.
I have a TP9 an it's 8+1 and a barrel length of ~4.00"
What are you referring to?

Tp9

Most people don't know that there are 2 versions of the TP9. It's my understanding the first ones came out with the P frame with the 4 inch barrel and the current one with the longer dust cover and 8 round frame. I'm just wondering if any one knows how many of the P frame TPs were produced?

I'm going to take a stab at an answer.

The oldest reference to a TP9 I can find is in 2006. The "T"s first appeared in the early 2000s, so my guess is that the TP first appeared shortly before 2006, maybe 2004 or 2005.

The T series, going by serial numbers, are produced in pretty small numbers. Only a few hundred or so even less per year. My full frame TP has a low serial number and I bought new in 2009. I assume the change was made that year, (2009). Therefore, my guess is that Kahr produce only several hundred short frame TP9s. Maybe as few as 500 in the four or so years that size frame was used.

Any T series is rarely seen. I've never seen one in a store. I bought both my T9 and TP9 off the internet. Good guns, worth finding, IMHO.

The P9 was introduced in 2000, so your 2003 date makes sense. Add a few hundred to the count then. Kahr changed the letter prefix with the change of style. I'm guessing your 2003 has a pretty low serial number. Finding a later produced old style TP would give you an idea as to how many were produced.

The Kahr Forum had a discussion on the T9 and numbers produced. According to folks there the number of T9s have only grown to about 1800-1900 guns total, and it's been produced a bit longer with no model change.
