I really want a Glock 19 Gen 4, but with all the hype about the problems im tempted to go with something else. Can anyone Verify that Glock has fixed there IN PERFECTION Keep in mind its going to be my first handgun. Ive been to a couple shops and i really like the feel of the G17 and G19. But also would love to have a heavy hitting 45 acp G21 I have big hands so it should be fine to grip as long as the recoil is controllable for a new handgun shooter. Everyone's input is tons of help for me. Thanks to everyone who's kind enough to reply.

I love my G19 Gen 4. I have no idea how many rounds I've put through it - IDPA matches are a couple hundred each time. I'm a pistol instructor and students get to shoot it. And I host monthly shoots - it's what sends most rounds down range on those nights as well. My guess, at least 5,000 rounds. I did lighten the trigger along the way - that was just for my preference.

I've never had a problem with it.

Compare that to the Ruger SR9C I bought 2 months ago that has given me nothing but problems - it's going to Ruger tomorrow.

I just wanted to say thank you to Sassafras for the quick response. And to anyone else who is willing to give me there input on the gen 4 glock 19. Ive done tons of internet research and ive even been to a couple gun shops. After all of that i think the 19 is the best fit for me as im new to handguns. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Keep em coming.

The bottom line is that YOU need to go to a range rent the different models then YOU decide, or you'll be second guessing yourself forever.

Half the members here will say Gen 3s are the best, and the other half will say they love the Gen 4s...

A quarter will say G19 is the best, another quarter will say G17 is the original, and the other half will say 9mm is for *******... Then you get those 10mm guys...

See where I'm going?

Get what YOU want after you've physically tried them out - don't listen to use too much.

Regardless of your choice, I guarantee you'll be buying a second and third Glock soon after, unless the government only allows us to carry sharp sticks.

Btw, I love the Gen 4s, but not a fan of the G19... The grip is too cramped so I prefer the full-sized grip of my 17 or the two-finger grip of my 26... Both gen 4.

I also own a gen 3 G30 in OD that is just awesome. If it wasn't an OD model, however, I'd trade it for a gen 4.

In conclusion, rent and shoot as many Glock models as possible. It will be well worth the rental and range fees. Trust me.
