Rant....join me.

OMG

I have been on some of the most popular antigun facebook pages. I am doing my honest best to be respectful and reasonable. I am not a world expert but I am trying to be as logical as possible and I am dropping links and information as much as possible. I am using everything. youtube videos, summaries as well as direct studies and analysis from original publlished source material.

The level of ignorance is just unreal. Spending time trying to teach what a republic is and why it is important. Basics about the constitution and the Bill of Rights.

And this is what I have to deal with all day every day. A fresh comment:

"Ban guns that are mad for killing; Keep the simple hunting rifles and shotguns"

I don't think I can keep doing this. It is like trying to educate.....well, an ignorant gun grabber apparently

So what are your experiences and what is the most ignorant statement you have heard. By now, I bet I have heard them all.

Go...

You must be a glutton for punishment to try and change the mind of those who already have made up their minds!

"Even if I had a gun, I could not use it to harm somebody else even if my own life were in jeopardy".

I prefer to think of him more as a saint.

Definitely not a saint. I initially went there to just see what they are thinking. But I got so sick of hearing how gun nuts are ignorant, stupid, dumb redneck, illogical people who care more about guns than they do about the children.

Could not take it anymore so jumped in full bore and started challenging their logic. Started showing that their "common sense" is disproved by all the studies and the data that is readily available all over the internet with simple searches. That the facts they talk about are nothing more than opinion backed by nothing

Took about a day for me to get banned from one of the sites, LOL

But I just had to rant tonight. Willful ignorance gets overwhelming sometimes.

Emotions typically have no relationship to facts. Keep challenging people. I do that in my every day life, but I have no desire to do it on the internet.

That is the most amusing lie I typically here. They are so non-violent, until backed into a corner and they will claw fight, or stab their way out if they could. A gun is a tool, nothing more, nothing less. You can lay it on a table and order it shoot someone, and it just lays there like the inanimate object it is. Petulent little things.

My sister has told me this on more than one occasion.

In all fairness, I think some of them might actually talk someone to death or make that person want to kill themselves just to make the yapping stop. In fact, I am pretty sure it is almost their superhero ability
