White House says Congress must raise debt limit

Quote:
The White House said on Friday it is vital for Congress to quickly resolve future tax and spending feuds, and raise the U.S. borrowing authority to avoid economic uncertainty.

"It is quite clear that the economy will be better if Congress does its job and does what it routinely has done historically which is raise the debt limit without problem," Alan Krueger, chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, said in an interview on Bloomberg television.

Well, there ya go. The king has spoken.

Obama: US can't afford more showdowns over debt, deficits
Quote:
"We still need to do more to put Americans back to work while also putting this country on a path to pay down its debt, and our economy can't afford more protracted showdowns or manufactured crises along the way," he said in the address, broadcast Saturday.

"Because even as our businesses created 2 million new jobs last year including 168,000 new jobs last month the messy brinkmanship in Congress made business owners more uncertain and consumers less confident."

Government data released on Friday showed the U.S. unemployment rate remained at 7.8 percent in December.

And again the king speaks. No talk, no discussion, just do as I say.

The national debt...our dollar...the budget...these things are now only punch lines to jokes.

I would really like to know what/how this is discussed behind closed doors. I've always stated there is no plan...and to clarify its there is no plan to stop the collaspe. As long as people continue accepting those pieces of special paper and ink as "valuable" things will be status quo.

There is a plan once the collaspe happens.

he always talk about how we need to pay down the debt, fix the economy, and get more people to work. yet everything he does, does the exact opposite. this in itself does not surprise me, and as much as i would love to see him shipped to an uncharted island, he is what he is, and got back in.

what continuously amazes me though it nobody ever seems to call him on it. almost daily he sets himself up for what could be a massive and embarrassing shot back from the GOP, or anyone that can get on TV.

There must be.

Although I don't know what it is.

But consider this.

Valueless US currency used as a world standard.
Coin currency - to expensive to produce. Govt looking to obsolete.
That leaves electronic currency - which is the basis of much that goes on behind the scenes anyway. We don't literally print all money on paper today.

Based on this evidence, the future must hold an electronic monetary system in which the US dollar is instantly traded for 1/10th of its value. That means the World's debt instantly goes back a decimal. $16 Trillion US debt instantly becomes a much more manageable $1.6Trillion. Of course, all the money you hold is instantly worth 1/10th the value too. Your savings. Your 401K. Your pension (payout still in US dollars). This plan can happen almost instantly. And who cares if there is a run on the banks/atms? You're withdrawing near worthless paper. However, your $100 in electronic credit groceries now actually "costs" you $1000 in old US dollars.

We will see. This won't last much longer.

Hello Visa? I need to raise my CC limit by oh, a couple trillion dollars.

Yes I know you just raised it by that amnount a while back.

Yes I know I'm trillions and trillions in debt.

Yes I know I haven't paid anything on the principle in a decade or more.

Yes, I know every 'deficit' bill (aka budget) we've passed lately has increased the total debt.

Yes really, I'd like a few more trillion in credit please

You should give it to me... or else it'll get worse.

Yes I know it's getting worse anyways, but I mean it'll get... worse than the worse we already have. I promise.

I'm scratching my head wondering when the markets will figure this out. Rally 500 points over the cliff bill? Really?

We meet the third world that was just around the corner as the world adopts a SDR/basket world reserve currency as other countries are calling for and we are pressured into a North American Union.

Did you guys really not see this coming? There is no other way for them to continue doing what they're doing. Regardless of the consequences. I'm very scared for the future of my daughter.

Never occurs to these idiots, and especially THIS administration, to actually be good caretakers of the tax dollars they DO have, does it??? No...better to just borrow more and more money...unimaginable amounts of money...so the uncontrolled spending can continue. Immoral, thieving SOBs are worse than starving hogs at a food trough.
