Is it legal to make your own mags?

Is it legal to make your own mag? If so, does anyone make ar15 mags?

I don't see why they wouldn't be. They're not serialized and don't require a manufacturer marking.

As long as they're compliant with any pertinent laws, I don't see how they could be illegal to make. It's legal to make a firearm as long as you don't intend to sell it.

I don't know of anyone making mags, but I was actually thinking about it last week! I was thinkin that it would be a huge PITA and it would be very ugly...

All you would need for the 3d printing a mag would be the spring, everything else could be printed. Hmmmmm good idea, I'll have to try one. Maybe a nice alternative to these crazy prices. I can buy all of the parts straight from Glock except for the mag tube, we can't even but complete mags anymore.

I believe there already is a 3D print file to print AR mags.
