Rossi Pump
I picked up a little Rossi pump action (pre lawyer induced safety, THANK GOD!) at the pawn shop a few weeks ago.
Anything I should be aware of? It is a shorter barrel version, not the rifle length. I am thinking it might be a good pecan orchard gun laer in the year.

I accumulated four of those in stainless, kept one, and gave three to my grandchildren for their birthdays - under my son's oversight and control until they reach 18. These were short barrels also, and much fun.

While they 'can' be slam-fired, it's probably not a good idea....
Primitive sights but FUN guns!

I gave up on South American guns a long time ago. Wouldn't own one unless it was given to me, and even then I'd probably sell it for whatever I could get for it. I wanted one of those so badly when they first introduced them, then I found a couple at a lgs. The first one had a severely uneven crown, the other had the rear sight canted off to one side on an octagonal barrel, which means the flats were not milled straight, or the barrel was screwed in too much or not enough, or the dovetail was illed crooked. After that I lost interest in them and I've seen similar problems with other South Amercan brands.

I bought one back in the 80's for $85, I still have it. Has been a garage gun for 30+ yrs, left out behind my tool box for easy reach, thousands of rds through it, tac driver. Has been cleaned once back in 2002. After moving to Az it took awhile for it to get used to dry weather, been back to normal since 2002, I may be dead before it needs cleaning again. Oh, its the short barrel. My all time favorate gun.

I had one of these back in the 80's. I sure wish I had not traded it off.
