Bob Lee Swagger uses a .38 Super in Stephen Hunter's The Third Bullet

So, it looks like Bob Lee Swagger followed his father Earl's footstep with the .38 Super. Bob used it to shoot through car's windshield to take out an assassin.

The only problem was that he used a Kimber.

I'm just happy it's a 1911 and not a Glock!

Bob Lee always used the M1911 like his dad.

And hope that the screenplay adaptation is better than the last one. It wasn't bad but too much deviation from the book with many important details left out.

I don't know about the movies, but Hunter does a great job writing and seems to be a fanatic about getting his facts straight on the firearms he writes about in his novels.

I know that he purposely deviated from some of the known gun facts but stick to a bit of wives' tales just to make it sound more authentic.

The best Hunter book I ever read was THE MASTER SNIPER. Read it about 25 years ago.

He wrote some really good ones back in the days. I just re-read Master Sniper last month.

The Day Before Midnight was badass.

So what's this Russian 9mm they give him in Moscow?

Sounds like some kind of uber-Glock!
