10mm Pig Hunt

Here is a pic of my pig hunt on Sunday. This boar probably weighed 275-300... thats a guess because we didn't weigh him.

Glock 20sf, Lone Wolf barrel, 22# recoil spring, 200 XTP loaded to 1200fps with Longshot.

Looks good, how did the bullet perform as far as penetration?

I couldn't tell you. I didn't cut him open looking for the bullets. I can tell you that they did not penetrate fully... at least I don't think so. I didn't see any obvious exit holes, but then again I didn't go looking. Sorry I can't answer that for you. He was a big, thick, bruiser hog...

pig hunt

How many yards did you shoot him at? Is that a 5 in barrel on that gun? How far can you hut a pig if you're rested on something?

Thanks,
Vince

From about 5-7 yards. It is the stock length barrel. As for distance, I guess that depends on how good of a shot you are! I would say whatever distance you can reliably hit a paper plate at.

Hit him with 2 while he was running, one behind his right shoulder and one to his gut... then a finisher behind his left ear when he was down.

Thanks guys... its always fun to get real world results! I was hoping to maybe jump a coyote or a whitetail that day too. It was the last day of deer season... if only a doe and been close...

A tip of the hat to you, sir. Two hits on the run, nicely done! That is a nice hog. Great to know that the G20 and a hot 200gr XTP got the job done. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Awesome job. Thanks for sharing your experience.

You might consider posting this over on The 10 Ring hunting sticky so that it is there permanently.

I would love to toot my own horn on the shooting, however the guy I was with had flushed him out and I could hear the pig coming. I had the G20sf out of the holster, pointed at the trail where he was going to come out, and he ran by me only about 5 yards away... it was literally like hitting the broad side of a barn cause he was big!

But thanks for the kind words!
