Ammo In Stock

When I last looked, http://www.freedommunitions.com/ had ammo in stock. They make reloaded and new varieties so it's your choice if reloads are OK.

I just got 2-500 round boxes of loose reloads in 9mm and one in .45acp. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good. I don't plan on a steady diet but in these troubling times, it's a start.... They are also one of the few I found with .38 spl in stock.

According to their FB page, they are getting ready to reopen their site for ordering. They were severely backlogged in orders and shut down in order to get caught up. Orders may be limited to lots of either 500 or 1000 rounds. I have some of their 9mm ammo and it works just fine.

That's good to know as I haven't put any reloaded ammo through any of my GLOCKS to this point, so I'm curious as to how they "digest" this stuff. Thanks.

The 9mm I got from them was their "Blaster" practice ammo. Listed as blemished rounds that wouldn't pass their visual inspection. Mine came packed in 50 rnd boxes, and it was hard to tell from new. I bought 500 rounds and used the barrel from my 19 to check every one of them. Out of the total, I found one round that didn't drop right into the chamber. A close inspection showed that the case mouth was split about 1/4" and was slightly bulged. I figure one out of 500 ain't bad for "blemished" ammo. I wouldn't expect a problem with their standard reman ammo or their new loaded on new brass.

So many people are stocking up on ammo because the candidate they voted for is planning on banning ammo. Well those shooters who stayed home on Election Day, or who voted for the Kenyan are the ones buying up the ammo now.

I neither stayed home on election day, nor did I vote for the "Kenyan", and yes, I'm always looking for ammo.

Although a limited supply of 9mm hollowpoints can be found in STL, 9mm plinking/range ammo is non-existent here right now. The only plinking ammo to be seen is as follows in limited quantities, 380, lots of 38 spec, 357 Sig, 40, and 45. No small pistol primers or commonly used pistol powder (e.g. Titegroup). Didn't check at Graf's.

The old justification of 9mm fans, that one can always find 9mm in a crisis, has turned out to be misplaced. It seems that the less popular calibers are the only ones available right now. My years old decision to buy a .40 Glock is looking good right now since with conversion barrels I can shoot 3 calibers (9, 40, 357).

A related thought here; is it theoretically possible to shoot .380 in a 9mm? Softer recoil spring and maybe barrel/ramp alterations. Just wondering.

Chamber is not right for .380 in a 9mm. The cartridge most likely would go so far into the barrel that the striker wouldn't even hit the primer. There are sites that are still taking orders for 9mm practice/target, although they're reman rounds. Delivery won't be overnight, but it's out there.

Good point, that's why it pays to ask for opinions and advice. I suppose that a barrel maker could offer a conversion barrel that solves the problem that you identified.
