How is the Black Rifle situation looking?

I cannot decided between waiting until the market levels out or picking one up for double the msrp. I don't want to regret it in a couple of months. Are we leaning towards AWB?

i dont think so , with the so over the top proposals put out there is no way .

if you dont have an AR now , try to find colt 6920 at wallyworld for retail price , i got 3 from there . or wait it out .

things will calm down . then a flood of folks will sell in my opinion

I bought my first, a SCAR 16, for $3300 + tax.

I want a black 7.62 of some sort but I decided to gamble and wait a bit. I bought an old but clean Remington 740 in 30-06 w/ extra mags, sling, & scope for $500. If black rifle prices don't come down this may be my only .30 semi-auto.

Several people know to buy any black rifles they see at Wally World for me. Don't call me, just buy it.

That's a illegal straw purchase.
It's OK for Holder and company to make straw purchases for the Mexican drug cartels to kill Americans but you had better not be caught buying a gun for a friend.

I thought it was only illegal if the person you are buying it for cannot legally buy one themselves. Can't you buy one outright and then do an FTF later on if your buyer is kosher? HH

That's the way I've always understood it to be. Nothing more than a private sale between friends. If private FTF sales are legal in that state, he should be good to go.

Things are starting to level off, come down. I was offered a pistol lower (no stock/piston of course) for $500. While that is out of line. In current market its (almost) reasonable. Uppers for $550 (B BCG) no carry handle...
Thats lower then I have seen. I wouldn't panic (yet)

It might be a good idea to invest in a Scout Rifle and a DA service revolver just in case.

Buying with the INTENT on reselling to a buddy is illegal. Buying, deciding you don't like it, then selling to a buddy is kosher.

Key word is INTENT and the burden on the ATF to prove your intent.

Nope. Here, this is small but is the instructions of a 4473:
The Okie Corral

If you buy it to give to a buddy as a b-day present, it's okay.

If you buy it because your buddy wants you to buy it for him, it's illegal.

Doesn't matter if your buddy is able to own or not, just why you bought the thing.

Here is an illegal straw purchase...

I cannot pass background check, so I give you the money, you go in and buy it for me and come out and give me the gun.

I would have no problem buying a gun for a friend or two of mine (who have GWL and I know are legit) and then "selling" it to them as soon as I see them. I will not be taking the money of joe blow outside the gun store and buying him a gun because he can't pass a background check.

It's an illegal straw purchase even if you CAN pass a background check. Please quit spreading this bad information.

When you buy for a friend, you are making a straw purchase, a felony. It does not make one whit of difference if the friend could or could not have passed their own background check.

It annoys me that people still believe it's only a straw purchase if the actual buyer (NOT the person filling out the 4473) is a prohibited person.

Buying for your friends/neighbours/relatives is illegal unless it's a gift to them.

http://www.atf.gov/training/firearms...episode-4.html
Quote:
Keep in mind that a straw purchase is a purchase in which the actual purchaser uses someone else — a.k.a. the “straw person” — to purchase the firearm and complete the paperwork. Generally, the straw purchaser is used because the actual purchaser is not eligible to conduct a transaction because he or she is a felon or other prohibited person. However, a straw purchase occurs even when the actual purchaser is not a prohibited person. The crime committed is knowingly making a false statement on the Form 4473 indicating that the straw purchaser is the actual purchaser, when this is not the case. Additionally make sure you familiarize yourself and anyone who purchases a firearm as a gift with the rules associated with the ATF I 5300.2 pamphlet.

Because those are about as safe from banning as any firearm is every able to be.

Only if I pay them back. I want them to buy it and give it to me.
