Picked up a Shield 9mm today

I was shotgun shopping yesterday. Picked up a Mossberg 500. I overheard the guy down the counter talking about how he hadn't seen "these" anywhere. My curiosity got the better of me and looked at what he had. It was a Shield .40. After completing my purchase i asked the clerk if they had any 9mm and he said they had a couple left. I checked it out and didn't care for the grip shape. I left and last night was thinking about it and decided to go today and see if they still had any. They did so i picked one up. I decided that this was a ccw gun and not a gun to spend an hour or so plinking. It also happens to fit in my AIWB holster for my Glock 26. Now just gotta get a few hundred rounds through it to gain carry confidence with it and i will start carrying it.

Why didn't you want the 40?

I've found the Shield and the XDS to be carry guns that you could easily spend an hour shooting. Congrats!

Some people prefer 9mm. I know I do.

I used to automatically choose .40 but have totally changed. I prefer the softer shooting 9mm & the extra capacity. Still own a handful of .40's though.

I saw in the midway flyer 7 round mags for the shield.

Enjoy your Shield. You might decide you like it more after shooting it some. Mine became familiar very quickly.

I've got both, just curious as to his reasoning.

I got rid of my .40 guns for all 9mm. Just don't care for it. And ammo costs.
It was Bob's in Norfolk.
Im sure I will like shooting it. But it was bought for the purpose of ccw. For plinking and gun games i would use a larger gun.
