Check out this Prototype stock for the Ruger 10/22

It might be for sale around Shot Show or shortly after? I think its a great alternative to the expensive aluminum stocks like the Troy T22 and Zimmerman monolithic stock.

So... basically it's just their current 556 kit with a longer fore-end?

Some folks arent big fans of super short handguards. So yeah it is an extended version.

Or you could look at it as a polymer affordable alternative option to the aluminum Troy T22 or Zimmerman stocks that are also monolithic with extended handguards.

Why even bother with the Troy when you can go but a s&W mp22

I like it. What kind of barrel is that? Looks like a .920 heavy barrel. Looks like it would have nice balance.

I have the origional Archangel 556 stock on my 10/22

Rimfire Forum

It is a really nice peice of kit, it's hefty, though. Also, to pull the barrel for cleaning, the front handgaurd and top rail have to come off, kinda a pain since it's bolts into plastic. Also, gotta make sure to re-zero your optic, or at least check it. I made that mistake cleaning my rifle before a shoot event. Didn't do so well with my fancy lookin 22.

My age must be showing, because I cannot see the attraction or utility of such a weapon. I cannot be inexpensive, it looks heavy and I doubt that it is very accurate. The trigger is most likely terrible, at least in comparison to a Volquartsen. What are the advantages of such a firearm other than looks? If there are no practical benefits, why would someone be motivated to purchase such a firearm? I am certain that a Volquartsen 10/22 type rifle could put as many rounds down range, as fast or faster than subject matter of this thread and do it with substantially more accuracy.

It's mainly aesthetics, they say it's to make the 10/22 feel more similar to an AR. Eh, not really, but it least it's black has has a full length free-float rail. It's not inaccurate, so long as you torque it down right. The plastic parts had me worried, but once it's zero'd, it holds. Volquartsen is far different than an over-mold stock, that's apples an oranges.

I think it looks halfway decent, might even pick one up if it's cheap. Otherwise I'll just stick with a regular 10/22.

I just told my wife that when this comes out we will have to have an addition to our 4 Ruger 10/22s.

We don't have anything like this, but it looks like it would be fun. I think she might get a kick out of a laser mounted on the lower rail.
