Kimber Classic Stainless Target LE
I have the opportunity to receive a kimber classic stainless target LE on trade for one of my CZs.
I don't know much about 1911s, but i have fallen in love with the aesthetics of the design as well as the feel of the action and trigger. I am excited to finally own one.
I've heard many things about Kimber, everything from "they suck" to "flawless" . Can anyone educate me on this model? Are they quality out of the box? Secondly, what are they worth?
Thanks in advance
I

Bac, thanks for the PM advice. It was helpful.
Anyone else have one? I've done some research, from what I've gathered it's a series 1 model, which is akin to the series 70 colt design. I've browsed the 1911 forums and kimber guys seem to think these were favorable to the series 2.
I just don't want a picky gun. I would like to be able to feed it what ever. It does look to be a beautiful pistol. I'm going to pick it up Saturday, so hopefully it functions as good as it looks.

If bac gave you some advice, I'd quit asking for more and do what he said.

fair enough. i just wanted to hear others experience with them. they are still a somewhat mass produced product, so i would have liked to hear multiple opinions, although Brians was the one i was after. i chose to acquire it based on his advice, i guess i just wanted to discuss them with others

I would trade if I was you especially if it's a straight up trade.
I have the CZ P-01 and a Kimber Stainless, not exactly what you have but close. Both guns are great shooters. My Kimber will shoot everything, HP, LSWC, RN, LRN, Hot or bunny fart loads and is very accurate. My CZ will shoot everything and is also very accurate. However, I shoot the 1911 better, you just can't beat a 1911 trigger.

Here it is. I may change the sights, they are kinda snaggy. Nice piece though, can't wait to shoot it.

I would have made that trade in a heartbeat. If I had to guess it was made in '99 or 2000. You did real good as far as I'm concerned.

I have a "series 1" Classic Custom ....or something like that.
The pistol has been flawless since I bought it new about 18 years ago.
