LGS had a Savage Long Range Hunter in stock a few weeks ago in .338 Lapua. So tempting. Then I thought, I belong to a club with a 100 yard rifle range, WTF am I going to do with this?

That makes it even more deadly than a "normal" sniper rifle. You can reload a round without moving your firing hand! Maybe this is a "machine gun sniper rifle"?

Just wait. They will say you don't need a scope for hunting.

First time to shoot it today.
20-30mph north wind gusts
sighted it in using Wammart 55gr .223
shot at 25, then 75, then 100yds
between gusts it would shoot nickle size groups at 100yds
This has the makings of another fun habit.

Cuts down down on ammo consumption too. I love long range shooting. One of the most fun "long range" guns I own is...believe it or not....a Mosin. Something about thwacking a 10" plate a 300yrds with the iron sights is deeply satisfying.

I have amblyopia, so I have to shoot left handed using my only good eye.
Ya'll just go ahead and pick on the old handicapped guy.

Sad to inform ya, but I have glasses, and they don't "fix" amblyopia. :(

That there is a sniper rifle. No one needs a sniper rifle.
