Got a lead on a TGO-1
I found someone with a TGO1 who is willing to sell at the right price. What would be a fair price to pay for one? I have been on the hunt for one on and off for some time. You don't see them sold to often so I want to be fair for both parties involved.

Cool deal, they don't pop up a whole lot. What condition is it in, and does it have the box and all the paperwork?

That's a tough call on the value. You can't go to a store and buy one off the shelf (I did) so it really depends on how much you want it.
For whatever it's worth, as good as it's reputation is, you'll find it's even better when you take it to the range.

I feel the TGO1 is the best 1911 Springfield ever produced on a regular basis. That said, less than 200 have been produced to this point.
What's the condition?

I dont dig the Target sights... but being that they are indeed very rare, I'd price one higher than a Pro. Condition? Pics?? Snap it up if your interested, the "right price" is what your willing to pay for it.

Bought mine NIB for $2300 from Bud's (Paris, KY location) back in 2009. It was priced at I think $2800, but I was talking with the manager and said it was there for a while and wanted to get it off the shelf. MSRP is I think $3200.

He has told me it is in good shape with all the paperwork. It has just been sitting in his safe. Has a round count of about 500 to 600. Only thing missing is original box which I dont really care about. I figured 3k would be a fair number since you dont see them to often.

Marc, I wouldn't offer that much for a used model with 500 rounds through it.
I'd offer $2500.
I got mine in 2008 in like new shape for $2200, IIRC.

I'd start lower, but that's just me. If its what you want and you think the number is a fair price, go for it.
You could call SACS and see if they are doing a run soon. Last year at SHOT o was talking to David Williams and he said that they haven't done a run in a while, then in June a batch of TGO-1's were born.

I'm with Brian, somewhere around $2500 is closer to where I'd want to be. But the TGO1 is one of those fairly rare items that just dosen't come up for sale a lot...and items like that usually do command a premium. FWIW, I got mine used in good shape with box and all paperwork for $2350 a couple years ago.

He is set at the $3000 price and doesn't want to budge. I figure that with all the new 1911 purchases I have made this year I can wait a bit for a better deal. As per California law I am out 5 months already (1 Every Thirty)

I am sure that there will be better deals, but I am doubtful that you will find one on a TGO1. PRK price new is $3995, and they sell at that price. I bought one about 3 months back for that, and that did not include PRK tax. And I am happy to have it.

Yeah, its not a cheap 1911 by any means.
That said, I feel its one of the best 1911s money can buy.

If this is in the PRK feel free to PM me the contact info and location if you are not interested please. I might be interested if it is local to me and I can look at it in person.

Well pay whatever you have to and let me know when you get it. Then you can trade it to me for my TRP. We already talked about that, right........?

I was hoping to not buy the pistol to save some cash, but this thread is making me second guess that. I am in a true dilemma. I was just figuring if it is not the best deal, I can always hunt one down in the next year or two.

Listen man. Its just money. You'll get more. Money comes and goes. Just get it. You won't regret it. Life is short and money is just paper. Get the gun. Enjoy it. TGO-1s are rare, and are excellent 1911s. Get it. If you somehow figure out that you regret it, you can always sell it, and probably make money.

Tough call....I'd want to get it for less, but I definately think the build quality of the TGO1 lives up to that price.
