What's your favorite Ameriglo Sight set up?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and I'm considering buying my first Glock (the 26) for EDC. Just curious what sights some of you folks like on your Glocks. I have meprolights on my XD, but I'm open to new things and these Ameriglos look like dandy sights. Any info would be appreciated!

Ameriglo provides excellent sights. I have them on all my Glocks.

Ameriglo offers many varieties, but sight selection is personal. What works best for me may not work for you.

For carry I use the Ameriglo CAP sights. For outdoor competition I switch to their red fiber optic front and plain black rear. For indoor competition I use their luminescent front & rear sights.

I actually like these more than the fiberoptics. The day glow orange on the "Hack Site" stands out in daylight like a sore thumb. In dark the tritium is really bright as well. I prefer a wide notched all black serrated rear sight.

Trijicons HD are similar offering 3 tritium dots with a subdued look to the serrated rear, though taller in profile. The Trijicons are about twice as much.

Hello hambone80, welcome to Glock Talk.

I've owned, tested and trained with a few configurations (five to be exact) of iron sights on a subcompact Glock pistol that serves double duty for conceal carry and home defense. The sights I liked the most are AmeriGlo I-Dot Pro. They are excellent for use in varying lighting conditions at short range (under 15 yards) and still function effectively for target shooting at longer ranges.

You can read my review of the AmeriGlo I-Dot Pro sights with some pictures at this link: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/show...73&postcount=5

Ameriglo I Dot Pro

My Talo EXO gen 3 G27 came NIB with Ameriglo I-Dot Pro NS.
They really are outstanding.
Eventually I changed them out for XS 24/7 Express Big Dots
as I'm really a CQC guy.

But for close and far work the I-Dot Pros are some of the best.

Pro Glo front with Pro Operator rear or I Dot Pro. The I Dots are taller than other Ameriglo sights and you can not use the front or rear only I Dots with the other Ameriglo sights.

I would not use those ATS sights if they were free.

They are not my cup of tea either, but I have to believe they are a serious alternative since Mas Ayoob uses them.

Quote:
Mas Ayoob: "I've used them quite a bit on a Glock 17, both for carry and for competition (IDPA and GSSF). I find them very fast and great as "geezer sights." Plan on a couple hundred rounds to get acclimated.

I sight in the old way, and sight in at 25 yards and then do enough shooting to know where to hold at other distances. Seems to be the most common approach, probably for a reason...:-)"

Operator rear with pro glo front is on my G23.
I'm happy with them.
The pro glo picks up pretty fast.
For target shooting I liked the narrower operator front.
I'd like a narrower pro glo,I'll have to look at their website to see if they make one.

There are many talented shooters in the US and I have never seen those sights on anyone's pistol.
There any many qualified opinions as well and everyone does not agree with every thing Mas does or says.

Those ATS sights remind of me the Steyr stock sights...

My favorite is the I-Dot or I-Dot Pro.

Second favorite are the Operators.
