American Sniper by Chris Kyle
A few weeks ago, I had the honor to meet and shake the hand of Mr. Chris Kyle, former Navy SEAL and author of American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. I met Chris at his book signing session at Ray's in Dallas, and was totally impressed by both his patriotism and his humility. After reading the book, all I can say is WOW! Chris' honesty and forthrightness in his book shines through from page to page. One thing I personally liked about his book is the fact that certain thoughts and commentaries from his wife Taya are included in each chapter. As a military servicemember myself, I know for a fact the families of our military men and women often go unacknowledged for the extremely important role they play in the lives of our
Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. Military families can never be shown too much appreciation for the support they give to both their individual loved ones and the nation as a whole. Much thanks to both Chris and Taya for their service to our nation and the sacrifices they've endured to preserve our freedom. This book is a must read for anyone desiring a first-hand account of the Iraq War.

After reading "Lone Survivor" and totally enjoying it, I was able to meet Marcus Luttrell at our caucus. He was caucusing for Rick Perry and spoke on his behalf. Meeting he and his wife was such a treat. What down to earth and caring people. I now intend to read "American Sniper."

"Seal Team Six" seemed to have some exaggerations in it, or at the very least he wasn't at all humble about some stuff. I thought it was ok.
American Sniper was excellent!

I hadn't heard of that; now I'm going to have to find it. I've read Lone Survivor, and American Sniper.

Great book, and so was Lone Survivor. Definitely two guys that I'm glad are on our side.

They don't call themselves "The Silent Professionals", for
nothing. I read, "Lone Survivor", about a year ago, and just
finished reading Chris's book about two weeks ago.
I also really enjoyed watching, "Act Of Valor", which is
done by real Navy Seals, those boy's see some action.
Navy Seals are the best trained and outfitted fighting men
we have, but they are some of the most humble men you will
ever meet.
I really admired the way Chris gave credit to the Marines, Army, and the men in the other branches of service that he fought beside and was associated with.
God Bless all of our fighting men and women in the service of
our country.

Someone in here is all sorts of jacked up.
Didn't really like Luttrell's book, but I read it.
In Chris Kyle's book, he deflects a lot of what he did on to his team and luck, which I much prefer.
The guy's also a beast.

Yes (trained and outfitted) and no (humble).
That's too broad of a stroke to put them all in the same 'they'... You've obviously never drank with any of them and THEN have them realize when you said you were in the Navy, you meant regular Fleet Navy.
Hah... My SEAL friend brought me in, and after maybe an hour going drink for drink, they asked me what team I was on. They didn't like my response, "Uh, the USS John Young soccer team". I thought it was funny, but my SEAL buddy dragged me out of their bar (on Coronado) so fast I got whiplash.
They are very private and territorial... And when you're in their 'home', humble isn't appropriate.
However, the Chris Kyle is a country boy, and obviously raised well, so it's a compliment to his character, but I wouldn't put them all under 'they'.
No joke, my friend was sh**ing himself as we left.. He caught some slack the next week during training and I suspect I have him to thank for still having all my teeth.
