Thank you

The 1911 vs Glock debate is certainly an agrument that can be made.

JMB vs GG is ridiculous.

I love this post.I've had to put clear plastic over the keyboard so it doesn't get ruined from coffee being spit all over it. Some of these ridiculous statements trying to make it sound like a 1911 vs Glock and that GG with his one shot wonder is on the same level as JMB has had coffee coming out of my eyes. The dog (Cairn Terrier) is sitting on the top of the desk next to me and can't figure out what is so darned funny about this flat screen in front of me. Just looking at her face has made this GG vs JMB not a 1911 vs Glock on and off topic post a blast. I'd say it's been interesting if it wasn't for some of the comments from the Glock trolls being so darned stupid, it's become funny. Thanks from Bob and Bella.

While I love both Glocks and 1911s, no one is on the same level as JMB.

Some folks are getting all huffy over what is essentially a .45 vs 9mm thread. Kick back. Relax, and enjoy the ride. For those who have enjoyed this thread, glad to have ya.

P.s. 380 is better than 45 GAP.

Go to Netflix and have them send you,

American Gunmaker. The John Browning Story.
Great documentary.
Sorry not available for streaming.

Get a real look into the man. Glock is a one hit wonder. Browning was a genius.

BTW. John Browning never abandoned his wife and family so he could screw his nurse.

Similar to the one listed in the previous page but in my opinion a much better film. Narrated by Fess Parker.

This thread is still going?

Since opinions are the only thing that can be said of the original question......I might as well give mine.

There really is no comparison......John Moses Browning is so far above in status, over Gaston Glock, it's not even close.

To me, it appears as though Gaston Glock's primary motivation is/was to produce a single profitable firearm design. He designed Glock pistols to be cheap and reliable.....and he succeeded in this objective in a very big way. That's well and good, but this is the main distinction between him and JMB.

GG is a capitalist, and JMB is an artist. JMB didn't do this because he wanted money, or fame........he did it because he wanted to be the best he could be, and if anyone recognized that is not relevant to his motivations. He spent time and effort most every day of his life pursuing something that neither made him wealthy, or famous......and he couldn't care less if that happened, or not.

I recognize this, because I am an artist pursuing my dreams of becoming the best I can be making artistic wooden bowls on a wood-lathe. I fancy myself as along the same lines as that which I recognize in JMB. Neither money, nor fame is why I obsessively drive myself.....and, this is the biggest difference between myself, and most others who pursue this. There are others who produce some very outstanding bowls, but there is that little spark of "Vincent Van Gogh" energy that only a few people will ever recognize.....

I recognize this kind of substantive personal, and very special energy in JMB's life efforts.......and, it is distinctly absent in the Glock pistol.

JMB most assuredly spent a lifetime living and breathing firearms design, while GG merely responded to a market.
