I have one its ok for a fun gun or my purpose a dedicated .22.

if you will for any reason trust you life to its a big NO.

IT went together well it does require a MIL spec buffer tube but that's what I normally use anyway.

also I paid 34 bucks for mine so there is nothing to lose in that.... for 70 bucks i would say no.

but if its your only option you gotta do what ya gotta do.

this is just my opinion and that means absolutely nothing so there ya go.

Imagine my surprise when I found out my SCAR had a polymer lower (bought it off the rack at the start of the panic). There are more proven options out there for the AR platform but if the engineering is right, I don't see why it can't be reliable.

I asked to see one at the LGS, they just don't "feel" right to me. I have no ideal about long term quality etc but the "feel" was enough to keep me away. A very subjective thing to be sure.

The SCAR and Glock pistols were engineered for polymer to begin with. The AR platform was not.

I purchased a few new frontier lw15's right after the panic started. They seemed quality, but I wasn't impressed enough to keep any for a personal build. Seemed like the light weight would throw the feel of the rifle off when fully built.

I doubt most of the people that are against them have even seen one in person. Ive never seen one in action or known someone that has one. I am curious though.

I have seen and used a few of them they have there place.

A fun gun or range toy sure...

A dedicated .22 ok sure

For 30-40 bucks stripped or 100-120 for a complete lower it a good deal to make close copy of a duty/home defense gun in .22

for my purpose it was to make my 10yo girl a light weight fun .22 for her to have fun with dad with...
(the upper on this has had a bit of a learning curve for me)

I have the ATI omni lower. I have seen and used a number of plum crazy/new frontier lowers they are tough.

But I am betting the first time you have a bad double feed(556) and need to mortar the gun to clear it.... IT will crack the the up turn where the buffer tube is attached.

I will say I have a buddy that bought a New frontier on sale for $109 complete and the palmetto $249 cyber Monday upper deal a 20 dollar charging handle and a m16 core 15 $115 boltcarrier and a cheap rear site after shipping he had a $550 working gun.

Ehh take it for what its worth not much....

I've seen several, including a few complete guns on poly lowers, and I have yet to be impressed by any of them. At typical pricing, I'll gladly pay an extra $30-40 for a milspec, forged aluminum lower.

For a dedicated .22 lr build it would work fine, anything else I would not trust it.

IMO I would buy them as they are "cheap insurance" if a weapon ban passes b/c you can still build one!

If I were to buy a lower as "insurance," it would be a quality forged lower, not plastic. Why buy something known to be prone to failure if you fear you will never have the opportunity to replace it?

Why should I trust a "torture test" by the company making the product. Don't they have an incentive to make sure the product does well in their "test?" I'd much rather see something from an unaffiliated party that has no financial or business interest in the product.

I bought a complete one (NFA) sight unseen for $100 shipped online a year or so ago. I was totally unimpressed with the quality. It was made from very cheap flimsy plastic, not good plastic like Glocks/Scars/PMAGS etc. The icing on the cake was the plastic FCG. That's right folks, a plastic hammer and trigger. I hocked that sucker the same week it came in. Complete junk IMO.
