Action Smoothness 500 vs 590A1, should there be a difference?

I recently bought a new model 500 and my good friend just brought home a 590A1 and between the two the action on mine is noticeably smoother, my trigger is crisp and his I'd rough and heavy. Iow, mine is nicer but based on the price difference we expected his to be the better of the two.

Does anyone have experience with both and should there be a difference?

Thanks,

I have both. Just recently picked up the 500. I also noticed the action seems smoother with the 500 then the 590A1. Both are 18's & the 590A1 has 500 or so rds on it.
The triggers feel the same to me though the 500's does rattle a bit.

Theoretically they should be identical. Same material, same action bars, same receiver, bolt, lifter, trigger assembly, etc. I suppose the difference is likely manufacturing variations and/or metal finish types. Also, lubrication of the gun is important and rounds through the gun.

I too have a 500 and 590A1 and the 500 is way, way smoother but it has a much, much higher round count.

I have a couple of both and after about the same amount of use they all feel the same. A newer one reguardless of model because they work exactly the same and all the parts which require movement are the same, the newer I would expect to be not as smooth. I have never seen a pump that did not get smoother with use.
