Bro in-law has this shotty in awesome condition he bought 20+ years ago. Is this the same as the 500's built today...what's the ATP stand for?

A is the designation for 12G, TP - Tactical Persuader.

I have one that I bought in the early '90s. Pretty much the same as the newer models but doesn't have the receiver drilled and tapped for sights or sight mounts. Also has the more desirable type of forend mount with the rails connected to a tube instead of pinned directly to the forend like some of the newer models do.
