Killing Primers

I have about 25-50 primers that I need to kill.
They aren't pressed into the brass, right now they are loose. I am moving so I don't have any access to any of my reloading equipment.
If I dump them into a quart of motor oil for a few days, will that deactivate them?

Thanks

Neither WD40 nor water will kill primers. Ran an experiment three years back, letting two separate batches of primers soak for over 3 weeks, then allowed them to dry out for 2.

The water soaked primers fired as though nothing had ever happened. Those soaked in WD40 fired, but were noticeably diminished.

Haven't tried straight motor oil nor bleach.

Ran some reloads through the warshin' up machine a few weeks back. I let 'em dry out and fired 'em over the chrono last week. They fired, but lost about 20 fps.

If you hadn't been a drankin' those Cuba Libras, you wouldn't have tried cleaning the lube off of your finished rounds with a warshin' up machine. Most of us are nowadays using one of those new-fangled shake 'em up machines with some of the cob the animals didn't take a liking to.

I weren't tryin' to warsh up my rounds at all. Just forgot them in a pocket. Came out the dryer a little dented (see soft lead .45 posts), but they shore were purdy (see shiny stuff in the garage and women of loose morals post).

Downy in the rinse cycle will remedy that lost 20fps.

OP for shats and giggles load them into some brass and fire away. Mindless noise making fun.

He gets like that....

But in the midst of downing all those drinks he was able to remember the full name of the brew package he had made years ago.

"Seven Falls Ambrosia Amber Ale"

I mistakenly called it

"Seven Falls Amber Ale"

So he corrected me.

If you spray them with oil that will kill them. On the spot. Finished. Trash.
