AR-15 compplete Upper Current costs?

With current pricing, what should be expect for a basic AR-15 complete upper w/ iron sights from a quality manufacture?

i.e. Colt or Smith or other known for quality inspection and other mfg technique's.

BCM is still getting batches in on a semi regular basis, and selling them for within $20 or so of pre-panic pricing. They generally sell out VERY quickly, but they can definitely be had.

$7-800 for quality. i.e. Colt, BCM, Daniel Defense, LMT

Good luck finding them in stock though. There are lots on classifieds though

Take a look for yourself. Find a few uppers you like, and click the 'E-mail me when back in stock' button, and put in your email address. Their email system has had a few hiccups, so there's always a chance you'll get the email late. When you get the email, though, be ready to jump on it, as their uppers generally last a matter of minutes before selling out. If you don't score on the first shot, keep trying.

As I said in the other thread, put a Page Notifier on a computer you will likely be able to check every 2-hours on this page from BCM. Adding this page on you phone as a shortcut and periodically checking it is not a bad idea either.

I am only looking at BCM uppers, as they are the only semi-available uppers right now that you can add a BCG to your order. Having an upper is great, but if you don't get the BCG at the time of purchase, you may have to resort to using an off brand part with questionable q/c and materials used.

I bought a BCM upper for the BCG alone, and sold the upper. I just did not want to go through the hassle anymore, of finding a "quality" BCG.

Good Luck.

RRA's are running about $550. You can order direct from RRA, but they are advertising a 3 month wait.

I am looking for a mid length 16" upper for my RRA A2 20".

Got my BCM BFH 16" Mid upper for $529.99 in January. (no BCG or CH)

Basic 16" M4 upper in stock now. Have uppers in and out of stock fairly regular last week.

Right now the BCG is the harder to find part.

I would like to alter the focus of my original post from cost to quality of the typical product gun makers are putting out today. Just quality of BCG/BCG Housing upper/Barrel.

I have some il-formed thoughts but want to get some schooling on what others are seeing for quality in their AR's.

By quality I mean the three R's (reliability, reliability, reliability) for the same spec'd rifle. If two gun makers set out with the same specs, which would tend to make a better rifle?

With the same build specs where would these line up on your quality line? 1st/2nd/3rd/and on ward.

DPMS
COLT
Smith & Wesson
Rock River
Bushmaster
Olympic
Vulcan
Daniel Defense
BMC
LMT
If I missed a major player add it in here.
If I listed someone that is not a major player, please ignore it.

Thank you for your lists based on your personal experience.
