Seattle Democrats Want Home Inspections for Gun Owners

Misstep in gun bill could defeat the effort

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners.

Progressives, you have to come to the painful realization that the progressive Democrat party has become increasingly fascist. This bills is exactly what we have been warning of. Radical progressives will trash the constitution without a moment's hesitation. You may be okay with that for the 2nd amendment, but they won't stop there. When you go on gov't healthcare someday, they will tell you what you can- eat, drink, smoke, ect. Bet on it.

There's more from Chicago this time:

Are the Dems losing it because they will not get a second AWB?

This is a repeat of a bill that died in 2010.
When the sponsors say that they didn't know what was in it, I think they LIE!

It is no mistake. It is what they want. And it'll lead to eventual confiscation.

Did you actually read the article?

Do you realize it conveys basically the opposite message of what your thread title does?

Look who's here defending Democrat gun grabbers aaaaagain.

I don't buy their excuses. Simple enough for you? A staffer (s) wrote it just like Democrat staffer(s) wrote Obamacare. Do you REALLY think Pelosi voted for it so that she could find out what was in it?

So in your world reading an article in its entirety is equal to defending Democrat gun grabbers?

Of course you're not going to believe anything that runs contrary to what you already think. Your record is crystal clear on that point. The funny thing is that you expect the readers of your posts to exhibit the same disconnect from reality.

When we can order body cavity searches for those voting for this for no reason whatsoever. Does privacy, even illusional, have no meaning for these frackers?

I'm telling y'all, they are using the destruction of the second amendment as a blueprint for the eradication of all the others.

Here in NM, I am pretty sure it will die. My congressman replied to me today regarding HB 402 (mags/AWB ban)....

I agree with your point of view. You well know that I am a law abiding gun owner myself and can appreciate the comments you make.

Instant NICS background checks have been a part of gun purchases for several years now. Whether they make a difference or not is not easily determined. The fact is that criminals looking to commit crimes are not shopping at Wal-Mart for guns...typically.

I would hope that our legislature will have more dialogue regarding mental health issues and protecting places that are vulnerable to horrible attacks.

I thank you for your well thought out comments and look forward to defeating that bill if it comes up for a vote.

State Representative Alonzo Baldonado

The author seems to only be upset over appearances. Frankly, so does the bill's sponsor as quoted. The author is unabashedly in favor of an AWB / mag ban and is angry that a passage in the bill looks especially Orwellian.

Closer reading suggests that the author isn't bothered by the idea of door to door searches in the least.
