G27...What Recoil?

Took my gen 2.5 G27 to the range today and put 200 trouble free rounds through it.

All I can say is you guys that complain about the recoil are nuts. (In a good way of course)

I've had this gun for many years and its fired thousands of rounds and has been carried concealed on my person all this time, mostly on my hip and on occasion on the ankle.

I can honestly say I can't remember even one malfunction.

Other Glocks have come and gone but this one remains.

To me recoil has always been subjective to the individual person.

+1. I had the same experience when comparing the G26 to the G19 in terms of recoil. Barely noticeable to me.

Love the 27. I don't feel the recoil is harsh in any way.

Shot 350 rds Saturday, no sore hand or blisters (gen 4). Best firearm in the safe!!! Very versatile, have g22 and 23 mags with x-grip spacer and of course some 22 rd. sticks.

Couldn't be happier with my 27!

x2

The recoil is a little different from the G26, but not enough to make it uncomfortable to shoot. It is about the same between my G19 & G23.

I love my 30 but carry my 27 more often. In a real gun fit, recoil isn't going to matter.

Love the G27.... but my G29 kicks much less.

Cracks me up when i carry a G27... it's like it's not even there. Sweeeet little gun!

if you shoot back and forth between a 9mm and 40 you can tell the difference, but if you only bring one to shoot you want remember one over the other.

with the high grip and low barrel axis i find my glocks to have less precived recoil than other guns so recoil has always been a non factor,,,,besides I like a little recoil therapy,,nothing better

You guys are high, the 27 is ferocious, period. My 23 is a real kicker as well, if you want a soft shooting 40 get a SIG P229. But the 27 is just plain nasty.

I swap: 9mm, .357 Sig and .40 cal. in my G27 at each range session and I cannot perceive any difference.

It is a great pistol.

The recoil of the G27 is a bit over-hyped IMO.

Were you shooting +p+ ammo through a G26 when it was being "ferocious?" Just asking because of your handle, and the fact that I don't find the recoil extreme at all with standard pressure ammo.

Before I ever shot a G27, I heard alot of people in GT & you-tube about the snappy & strong recoil until I shot one, & thought- what strong recoil. It wasn't even that snappy, & I thought my Bersa Thunder 380 had more snap to it.

You must be recoil sensitive then.

Recoil on the 27 to me is a similar to my Taurus pt-101 (Beretta 92 clone in .40) . I've never had a problem with the recoil on my 27. High, firm grip. Just grip the dang thing. Can't limp wrist it. My rugar lcp had more snappyness to it.

I've never shoot a .40 Cal let alone a glock 27. But before picking up my glock 36 the salesman at my lgs said the glock 36 recoil was so brutal that he scared my gf out of even going near it. He even had me second guessing my purchase but after the first shot I'm like seriously? After this I will never trust another person opinion till I experience it myself.

After weeks of convincing my gf she actually now love shooting the g36 and is a pretty decent shot with it too.

Same here. My G27 gets more road time than any other Glock I own.

I don't have a G26 or G27 -- I assume my M&P9c and M&P40c are similar in recoil difference.

IMHO most of you are missing the point --

Sure almost anyone that can shoot a G26 can shoot a G27 - it is not like the recoil is going to break your arm.

I did not think the recoil of my M&P40c was bad at all - then one day I did a test --

I took a few large targets and put 10 circles on each - some small - some larger - then numbered them 1-10 in a random way.

I then did a timed test with a stop watch -

Shoot the circles - in number order - from about 10 feet - as fast as I could do so - and hit inside the circles.

After a few times it became OBVIOUS that my total times shooting my 9MM M&P9c were faster than my .40 caliber M&P40c.

I can't recall my exact numbers - but accumulating all my times - on average - it was taking me about 2 seconds longer to shoot 10 rounds of .40 than 10 rounds of 9MM.

This is a significant difference - it surprised me - after all I never thought the recoil of the .40 was bad at all.

I am sure some guys can shoot both calibers just as fast - and just as accurately - I can't.

I still have all 3 of my .40 caliber guns - still shoot them - still like them - but it is just a fact - I can't shoot them as well as I can a 9MM.

Next time you are at the range prove it to yourself.
