Glocks are counter to the grail concept. They are purpose built, no frills, all business tools. No more, no less.

This is like asking if there is a 'holy grail cardboard box'.

Yep. I cannot imagine any of my polymer pistols being anything more than tools made to get beat around. It is, afterall plastic no matter what high-tech name you give it.

If you're lucky enough to find one of the few Glock 7s that were signed by Bruce Willis, then you've really got something.

The first Generation G19

I guess I'd want old school and go back to the begining.
A gen 1 G17 maybe?
But I really think a real gen 1 G19 might be the rare one.
I'll take a first addition G19.

I have a 17L with an X200 as my HD and TEOTWAWKI gun. I would LOVE a 25! I've never been interested in a 18 although I would admit that it would be a fun gun to shoot.

For me a realistic goal for owning a Holy Grail of Glock's would be a 1st Gen G17 NIB. I would probably pay a purty penny for a gun like that. I didn't even know they made Gen 1 G19's. Wow.

I think there were only a few hundred imported to the US?
Most are in museums and private collections.

Glock 19 Gen1 for me. Only 24 known to exist. Also, P80-marked magazines would also be great to have. I'm not sure if any Glock P80 pistols (Gen1 G17's which, if I recall, lacked s/n "staples" in the frames) were imported. WITH THAT SAID, more realistic "grail guns" for Glockers include RTF2's with "gills", and Gen 2.5 frames. Now that the gun world has gone bat-**** crazy, even once-common things have become a "grail". I went to a gun show today here on Long Island (NY), and there wasn't a single Glock magazine for sale. In fact, there were almost NO magazines for sale. The only guy who had any 9mm for sale had it BEHIND GLASS. Granted, this WAS "Day 2" of the show...

(... sigh ...) I feel truly depressed when misinformation such as this is repeated on this website.

The original GERMAN Glock 7 model was PORCELAIN; the cheap Asian knockoffs are the ceramic ones. I am certain many naive collectors have been sucked in by this scam.

Please assist us by refraining from repeating such faulty information.

The reference is obscure, and your error is easily forgiven. Besides, it allowed me to be a pedantic schmuck for a refreshing moment.

There is an oddball rarity among Glocks that may amuse readers. When Glock got the drop on Smith by getting to market first with its .40 versions, a provision of the AMMO name licensing required that, for one year, Glocks produced in that caliber had to be marked ".40S&W"! After the year, Glock could revert to ".40". So for a short time, a Glock was made carrying a competitor's initials. These guns are mild collectibles.

I'm not sure about a Holy Grail, but a gen 1 G19 is extremely rare.

They still make these in limited runs. I could have gotten one this past summer brand new with a test date in early 2012 for the same price as a 34, but choose the 34 due to it being a gen 4 which i like. The gun shop says he gets 4-5 every other year.
