Lone Wolf, KKM and Storm Lake are board favorites.
I've personally had good luck with Storm Lake.
Have five of their barrels in 9mm , 357 Sig, 40 & 45.

Storm Lake extended G20 is 6.02"
For hunting I'd want the extra velocity.
Your getting a second barrel in the same caliber?
Go big or go home.

Heard too many bad things about Lone Wolf (either unsupported chamber, or chamber too tight), and didn't want a 6 inch barrel. Ended up going with a Storm Lake 5.3 inch barrel.

Put around 125 - 150 rounds through it today, and it functions perfectly so far, with great case support. I was a little worried about this barrel to begin with, as I thought it may have too much support in the feed ramp area, and was worried about the chamber being too tight (SL chamber measures .428, stock Glock barrel measures .433).

I put 7 factory loads through it, and several different reloads of my own (using new brass, once fired, and multi-fired brass). ALL functioned 100 percent, and velocity gains were from ~40 to 110 fps. I was honestly only expecting about a 50fps gain, AT MOST, but was pleasently suprised with more than that in most cases.

Here's the chrono data. Only used the SL barrel today, so stock barrel velocities were done several weeks ago, but on a day with similar temps, humidity, etc.

Factory ammo

Winchester Silvertips
SL bbl averaged 1227 fps.
Stock bbl averaged 1186 fps.

Remington 180gr FMJ
SL bbl averaged 1125 fps.
Stock bbl averaged 1045 fps.

PMC 200gr FMJ
SL bbl averaged 1066 fps.
Stock bbl averaged 1010 fps.

Georgia Arms 180gr JHP (advertised 1150fps)
SL bbl averaged 1204 fps.
Stock bbl averaged 1123 fps.

Underwood 180gr XTP averaged 1355 fps.
Stock bbl averaged 1290 fps.

Home grown ammo

Warning: Most of, or all of, the data below EXCEEDS book data. They have been safe in *MY* stock, and aftermarket barrel, but might blow your gun up. Use with caution...work up to it...etc.

155gr XTP, 10.2gr Power Pistol, 1.26 OAL

Averaged 1440 in SL bbl.
Averaged 1360 in stock bbl.

180gr XTP, 9.5gr Power Pistol, 1.26 oal
Averaged 1340 in SL bbl.
Averaged 1280 in stock bbl.

180gr HAP, 8.0 Power Pistol, 1.26 oal
Averaged 1176 in SL bbl.
Averaged 1120 in stock bbl.

180gr HAP, 9.0 Power Pistol, 1.26 oal
Averaged 1307 in SL bbl.
Averaged 1197 in stock bbl.

I'm very pleased with this barrel, and wish I bought it at the same time I picked up my G20. I still need to put some more rounds through it to make sure it's going to be reliable, but so far so good.

If the extra length doesn't increase velocity, then you better tell the many individuals on this forum who use it to hunt with.

No Problemo,
I would also recommend using real hunting ammo.
Not standard self defense hollow points.
Animals are a lot harder targets than people.
And penetration is king.
Look at some super hard cast hunting rounds;

A straightforward way of presenting it: As long as the force exerted by the burning powder on the BASE of the bullet is greater than the frictional force of the barrel rubbing on the SIDE of the bullet, the bullet will continue to accelerate. For a straight-walled handgun cartridge, the barrel would have to be almost rifle length for the burning powder to finally fall below that force level.

Why not getting a 16" barrel? Turn it into a carbine in less than 30sec with a MechTech. There's a long waiting list.

I have the 5.1" Lone Wolf barrel for my G20 Gen 3. Makes it legal for hunting in Ohio by .1 inch. No problems with the barrel that I have.

If I werent selling my G20 I'd be keeping this. Its the only barrel that doesnt bulge the brass, making reloading a *****, that I've ever had. I have a LW on the way for my new G29 Gen 4.

I have a 5.5'' ported LWB and a 6'' KKM barrel. Both shoot well and have fed fine with out problem.

Shooting factory Silvertips 1300+ fps and my own heavy handloads with 200g XTPs at 1250+fps.

Of coarse there was a vel gain with these loads over the stock 4.6'' barrel.

The "only" time, someone sells a LW barrel, is because they've sold the firearm it went in, LOL! They work wonderfully. I've had the six inch, and now the 5.15. Both shoot nice tight groupings, and, allow me to shoot hot lead loads. Also that's a nice price, for someone looking for that barrel. Probably saving $35-$40 over ordering new from Lone Wolf. grizzly7, don't pass it up. If you don't jump on it, someone else will!

Also, don't forget that GLOCK makes a 6-inch barrel for the GLOCK 20 for just hunting purposes. When I can, I always try to buy first-party parts. You can find them online around $150-$175. As a non-Armorer, you can also buy one directly from GLOCK for $150+$10 Shipping+Tax; however, I don't know how long it will take for GLOCK to send it since they are extremely busy nowadays. Your local gun shop could probably order one for you also.

I've the KKM 6" barrel for my G20SF. Turns the weapon into a tack-driver!
Shoots Underwood ammo very well indeed, and though I haven't had a chance to chronograph the 6" barrel, the posters above numbers sound perfectly reasonable.
