Good deal on the promotion... that's more than I got on my previous promotion... I think I ended up with about US$5 more a day... or half of that after taxes. Did better on my recent job switch... but found out the tax man hit me really hard... like gangster beatdown hard.

Just got back from some pretty sweet TDY.

I just went through resiliency training. Learned quite a bit about myself and how to teach the skills I use and take for granted.

I know there are other members here that currently serve, I highly recommend asking your training NCO to send you through the course...the ASSIST course as well. W/all the crap we put up w/on a daily bases both in the military and on the civilian side it will help a lot.

Once I get my 6, or go through warrant officer school, I'm going to go through the Master Resiliency Trainer school.

Anyway, just wanted to share. As an aside I got to break bread w/one of my federal colleagues while I was on TDY. Talked shop a bit but it was great to interact outside of work. Off to bed now, Drill tomorrow.

We had a lot of that kind of training from two E-6's and a -5 in my unit (especially during the time we swore that if they made us go through one more suicide prevention class, we'd shoot ourselves to make it stop). Oh, and my drill isn't for another week, just to rub it in some.

Ended up having to reschedule it. I have a damn wisdom tooth coming it, and it just about put me on my ass in pain. It feels better right now, but last night I was hurting so bad I was nauseous.

Received a letter in the mail from the University congratulating me on finishing my degree, and a "discount" voucher for grad school application they are willing to give me $2.00 off! Just add it to my $19,000.00 bill.

Thanks. It's feeling better today, but I haven't eaten much yet, either. We'll see how it plays out at work.

sure does and it's awesome to celebrate it in LA, although my gf is sick.
Still went to Santa Monica Pier. Crowded but nice. Hello sunburn.

It's why I'm really not interested in a masters degree. I think it'd cost something around $25,000. Granted, the VA (GI Bill) will probably cover most of that, but still.
