Glock 26 vs S&W .380 bodyguard

Started carrying my S&W .380 it is a lot smaller and lighter. I feel like I am cheating on my G26. When I open the safe to put it away I feel like it is saying you dont love me any more.

anyway just asking opinions.

I couldn't bring myself to get behind a .380 for SD.

I would ask myself one question. If I had to use it would I feel comfortable with a .380 and limited capacity? I look at it like my motorcycle. I can wear just my helmet. I can also wear my boots., jacket and riding pants with gloves. I wear the gear myself.

If I absolutely could not figure out how to sucessfully conceal a G26 I would go for the Bodyguard but not otherwise.

I like my single-stack Kahr 9MM for IWB carry.

Rudy, I have carried my G27 for awhile now as my CCW- I love this gun, and believe me Ive had a few pistolas over the years, but my G27 is my fave. But in the summer Ive noticed the Glock gets a little much with shorts for golfing, fishing ect... I wanted something for deep concealment/ pocket carry in Summer, so I too chose to buy the BG380. Love this little pistol! I looked at all the 380s and this one had it all, and the accuracy is awesome for a smaller caliber gun- so small and lightweight-about the equivalent of carrying a second cell phone. I had a struggle with downsizing from 40 Cal. to a 380 until a cop friend showed me how easy it was to conceal his BG in his front shorts pocket while snappin some bass on the boat last summer. He also explained to me that you don't need to carry a 44 mag to take someone down in an up close defense situation- shot placement is key- ALWAYS. So for me- G27 for winter carry, BG380 for Summer/shorts carry. Hornady Critical Defense 380-will get the job done.

I challenge anyone who thinks the wound cavity in this gel test vid isn't enough with good shot placement. Just my .02

I carry in case I need to. I don't ever want to wonder if it could have ended differently if I had a more suited weapon. If you can't conceal a 26 consider dressing around the gun.

A .380 is fine for ccw, you're not going to war, you are simply carrying a small pistol for your personal protection. As to the two pistols in question, the Glock a far superior choice to the S&W. Its an extremely well vetted design, in fact its an iconic firearm, one that changed the concept of small ccw weapon forever. I am 5.9 and 167 lbs, I carry a G26 every day, its easily concealed, I am left dumbstruck by all of the twenty-something testosteronis who feel it to be to large for their "ahh" little tiny frames.

Most of them are fat-asses, if I can easily ccw a G26 on my frame, then your average 220 gamer should be able to pack half a dozen of them effortlessly...

Funny, .223/556 round (basically a high powered .22) killed a lot of "Hadgies" in my time in the "Sandbox" and the same goes for my dad in "Vietnam"- we surely weren't issued 50 cals. Just sayin

Trust me- I love my Glock!!! I think my G27 is the best handgun ever designed- period. Its my Avatar pic, but I'm stating simply -you can kill with a. 22 if need be, and I'm 6' 230 (big boned, not a fat ass- lol!) and just wanted something light and comfy slipped in the front pocket while I'm swinging a club or casting a line out, or hell sitting in the theater with my wife in Summertime. I'm not "Rick" against the Zombie Apocalypse-lol. To each his own, its America- feel free to carry what ya like- lets hope that doesn't change anytime soon???:(

I went in about a month ago for the same gun. Shot the bodyguard, the lcp and walked out with the Kahr.

The bodyguard was a great little gun

Truth be told ... I carry my LCP in a back wallet holster more than my G26. I'm a huge fan of .380 personally -- The wife's carry is a pink LCP

I carry mine when my Glock 30 or Glock 26 are too hard to conceal with light clothing. Though the BG380 has had firing pin issues, after 600 rounds the only problem I've had has been with the laser. S&W promptly sent me a new one. I carry mine with the safety off at all times with one round in the chamber. Corbons is my choice in ammo for my BG

Most days I carry a G 26. Probably 95% of the time. I too carry a BG 380 on the other 5%. Depends on what I am wearing, but I always carry something..... Go with what works for you.

Concealed carry is suppose to be comforting, not comfortable.

9mm or 38 Special is as small caliber as I'll carry.
And even a service caliber,
single stack gun capacity can give me the heebie jebbies.

My G27 and HK P2000SK grips are about the same thickness as the slide anyway. And IMHO the thicker grip enhances control and reduces felt recoil.

I'll stick with double stack sub-compacts for minimum carry.

I carry the BG380 in an ankle holster most of the time when it's warm. I have no issues with shooting a .380. I haveit loaded with Zombie rounds - in case I run into zombies.

Rest of the time it's a M&P 9mm or a Sig 2022.

Agreed. I have a .380 PPK that is used only for backup in a pocket holster if I just absolutely cannot in any way carry something more substantial.

A good belt and holster, you might be surprised at what you can hide.
