Surefire mag.

I'm just a little curious, have anyone here paid over list price for a surefire 60 round magazine, I've found one for $149.00, at my Gunshop.

I thought they'd be higher and harder to get. And I gotta ask they worth it?

Waste of money, unreliable. You would be better off spending that money on some NHMTG mags, second in line to P mags as the best AR mags.

44mag.com has NHMTG 30 rounders in stock for $23. These are the mags Colt, RRA and others use as factory mags.

The 60 rounders I have have never malfunctioned. I know nothing about the 100 rounders. You can buy the 60 rounders for $110 with a little looking.

Doesn't make much sense to pay 6 times as much money for only 2 times the capacity. If they were, ya know, twice the price, i'd grab a couple.

I'd rather buy 10 30 round mags at that price, which can be done currently. However as another posters tag said "My .02 doesn't matter anymore because of inflation" LOL.

I have two of the 60 rounders and they have worked 100%. They are my main 3 gun magazine, I never need to reload.

This^^^
If you absolutely must have 60 rounds on the gun, get two 30's and a mag coupler.

Novel idea but a POS piece of kit.

I've seen a few at matches but never seen one that worked without some tweaking.

PSA has the 60rd Surefire in stock for $111.30 now. I would not mind having one to try out but I have little desire to pay that kind of money for a mag when I can get two quality 30rd mags for around $30.

I love it when other competitors use them

30-35 dollars I'd buy one or two. No way would I pay the price in the original post.

Not worth the chance in a duty gun or military weapon.

The internals are too complicated to use for anything other than range fun. On a defensive weapon, you're better off with 30 round pmag or Gi mag with anti tilt follower.

I am currently deployed and never seen one out here, even with the local SF ninjas. Lots of PMags and USGIs though.

Take a look at the Firebird coupler. Uses 2 30 rd PMags. I haven 't had the seating issues with this like some other couplers. Makes a steady rest if you go prone, too. If the mags get messed up, you just replace the 2 mags and you don 't have to worry about freaking out by screwing up a $120 magazine.

Looks good. I'll try one when I get a chance. The Magpul coupler works fine for me even with mags even not staggered.

I have a 60rd Surefire, and it has worked flawlessly for me and I have maybe 300+ rds. with it. Others I know who have it have not been so lucky. Still...it's fun to have at the range. But for SD, I have two pmags with a coupler ready to rock and roll at home....I just feel more comfortable with that set up. IMHO.

I have several 60's & several 100's & they all work fine. Never had a problem but I also have never disassembled them. Seems people that feel the need to take it a apart or use crap ammo get the problems.
I would not buy them in this climate though. Just not worth it.
